Lately the remote sensor on my Toshiba 32AF43 has not been responding on an intermittent basis but the problem is increasing in frequency. I checked the remote (replaced the batteries) and it still works for my Toshiba DVD player. I even bought a new remote and the same problem persists. Now it's at the point where my TV basically doesn't respond to the remote and when it does it's only for a few seconds before it stops working again. Any help would be GREAT!

The infrared sensor to your TV might be bad. It should be replaced. It is an easy to get part, and is cheap to buy from any electronic spare part shops. To access and replace it, you have to pull out the front panel PCB. In fact, you have to open the TV to replace it. The component will look somewhat like this.
hello, usually if the remot control is ok, then the infrared receptor need to be replaced, he is placed near the stand by light. in a rare case the problem is at the 5v voltage that goes to the receptor. more rare is the possibility that something is wrong at the microprocessor circuit.
i hope it was helpful!! Let me know if you need further guidance
Yes, I have been seeing a lot of those Toshiba IR receivers bad lately. Replacing it with a new one should take care of your remote problems. If you have never replaced small parts on PC boards then have a qualified tech handle it for you.
