You can interface the GP30 to the 1715 and get Lat/Lon readings where the cursor is. The GPS has extra wires in the power cable. The 1715 will require a NMEA cable pn 000-154-028. Connect the white GPS wire to the yellow radar wire and the blue GPS wire to the green radar wire.
yellow wire is for battery(constant power) red wire connects to any wire that gets power when key is on(switched power) black is ground like you mentioned blue is the remote wire for powering an amp orange is illumination for dimming the face lights at night and the rest (2 gray 2 green 2 white and 2 purple are speaker wires for right front right rear left front and left rear respectively.
It's your c2r-chy4. You need to hook the front speaker output from the nav to the rear input of the c2r. I had the same problem. The c2r only receives input through the rear speaker wires (purple green) Don't ask me why they did it this way but it's a common problem with this adapter. The nav sends it's voice promps through the front speakers only that's why you cant hear them. Connect the white speaker wires from the deck to the green of the c2r and the gray to the purple. Cap off all remaing wires. You loose the fader but oh well. Enjoy!
Assuming you have GPS input to your 1732 (i.e. GP310/320 sensor), you'll need a 7 pin NMEA data cable (000-154-028) wired to a D-sub 9 pin (serial) plug. The shield goes to pin 5, blue to #3, & white to #2. Jumper pins 7 & 8 together. The 7 pin cable goes to Data port 3 of the 1732.
red and black are power and ground, blue and white are gps output signal connect those to 9 pin connector pins 2 and 5 and get a 9 pin(serial) cable to usb adapter for input to a laptop, charting or mapping program and you are good to go. just make sure if you are using xp to wait until the mapping program is running and searching for gps signal before you connect the serial or usb because windows thinks the signal is from a mouse and the cursor will turn into a raging crackhead jumping all over the screen and randomly clicking on whatever it touches.
If you connect the unit to another unit, that either sends or receives data on the NMEA network, the in/out wires are used to transfer that data. If you do not have any unit for that purpose, you don't need to have them connected anywhere.
