I have the same computer and I have kept my old user manual. I looked in the book and there are several phone numbers which contact Gateway technical support. A general number is (USA) 1-800-846-2118. This is an automated menu system, and you can only use your telephone keypad. There is a fax on demand menu of catalogs which contains documents on common problems. If you can find the document you need, it will be faxed to you. That number is 800-846-4526.
Gateway also has a tech support line which you can call if you have a problem which doesn't requrie a tutorial-based solution. That number is 800-846-2301. If all else fails, you can call Gateway for fee-based software assistance (note the word SOFTWARE). This is the call of last resort, it's expensive, but here it is, just in case: 800-229-1103 (billed to your credit card by the minute).

Good luck! If you are Canadian, there are different numbers. The manual that came with your computer is available on CD if you do a simple search, but (as you probably know), it doesn't go into much detail. Gateway does that for a reason--they make money off of repairs, and it's too easy to make a mistake if you repair a computer yourself. Helpful hint--if/when you DO repair ANYTHING (not just computers), take a quick digital photograph (including a close-up) of each and every step. That way, you'll have a record of what you did that is visual; it doesn't hurt to write down what steps you took, either. Between the written and the visual, you'll have a better chance of fixing the problem, and then returning the computer to the state from which you started. Viva digital cameras!!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My laptop keeps locking up. What can I do

Boot in "safe Mode" using the proper function key for your Gateway... usually F6. Just old it down when booting up until the safe boot screen appears. Select "Safe Boot with Networking". At "Start" type "cmd" ... a new screen will appear, type in "chkdsk/f" without the quotation marks and wait until your PC fixes itself, be patient. Reboot and it should be fine!

Como activo el bluetooth de la gateway 6307

Juan Manuel,

I have to apologize that I can only post this in English. I was able to understand your question though.
You want to know how to turn on the Bluetooth Features of your Gateway 6307.

Try the instructions below:

1. Enable Bluetooth on the mobile phone or other Bluetooth enabled device. This procedure is dependent on the make and model of the phone or the device. You need to see the user manual accompanying your mobile phone or device to see how to enable Bluetooth.
2. Turn on your Gateway laptop. Check the area next to the clock in the System Tray. There should be an icon with a stylized "B" on a blue background. This is the Bluetooth icon. Double-click on this icon and select "Enable."
3. Go to Control Panel. Locate "Bluetooth Configuration" and double-click on it. A window should pop up.
4. Select the Accessibility tab. Check the option "Let other Bluetooth devices discover this computer." A check mark should appear against this entry 5. Select the Local Services tab. Startup type for all services should be set to "Auto."
6. Select "OK" and click. Wait for a few seconds. Your laptop should have Bluetooth enabled by now.
I hope this helps.

Gateway 450 ROG screen does not show or freezes

Hi, The only easy check I can suggest is on the memory. Flip your notebook so that the bottom is facing up. Locate a small panel (with 1 or 2 screws) roughly 3X3in. Inside would be 1 or 2 memory strips held in place by 2 retaining clips, one on each side. Moving the clips slightly away from the memory would free the memory strip and partially spring up. It can now be easily removed. With a pencil eraser, clean/rub on the little gold contacts at the bottom. The slot where they mate with their holder could also be cleaned with an old toothbrush. If the above does not correct the errors, then perhaps you are better off seeking the services of a qualified professional since the unit may have to be opened up and diagnosis performed on its various components. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
