What to do after resetting routing? i dont have any manuals!!, its a second hand netgear router . Yesterday i had wireless in my house, today i couldnt get connection, and a friend reset the router, now...

On the router you will find a reset button. Hold it down for 30 seconds and then release it. Unplug the power to the router and plug it back in. Wait for 30 seconds. Now try to reconfigure the router.
To set up the router , you don't need manual or CD. You can do it manually.

First make sure that your computer is able to go online when you connect it directly to the modem. If that is working, then you just need to open the router set up change the settings of the router .

I need help connecting to the router

you just bought the new computer. I belive it must be having the wireless card. Go to the control panel and go to network connections. If you see wireless network conenction in the network connectin then you don't need to buy anything.
Is your router already set up and other computers are online using the router ?
in that case you don't need to run the CD. you just need to connect to the network ?

I dont have cd that came with my netgear wireless router wgr614 v6

Hi, You do not require a CD to install and configure the router. Follow the below steps to reset and reconfigure your router:

At the back of the router you will find a small tiny hole (which says restore to factory default settings). Press the button with the help of a paper clip and hold it down for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, please release the button and power off the router for 5 seconds then power the router back.

1. Connect a Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port of the router (isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports. Please make sure that there is no direct connection between the modem and the computer (either using Ethernet cable or USB cable).
3. Power off the modem and the router after making the connections.
4. Power on the modem and wait for the lights, then power on the router.

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually with or
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on 'Basic settings' from the left menu and select 'Use Computers MAC Address' from 'router MAC Address' section.
5. Click Apply.
6. Once it updates the settings then power off the modem and the router. Power on the modem and wait for the lights, then power on the router.

Let me know if you need any further help with this.

No CD need to set up Linksys Wireless G Router

Router setup
You do not have to use the cd. Follow these instructions:

Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Passphrase problem

To locate the passphrase or key you will have to log in to the web based settings page of the router. To do this you will have to be "wired" to the router and type into the address bar of an internet explorer window-
This should prompt you to enter a username and password to log into the settings page of the router. The username and password should be admin. Once settings are opened the passphrase will be located under wireless security or just under the wireless tab. Let me know if this helps.

Good Luck
