Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P92 Digital Camera

2 Answers

I have a Sony Cyber-shot 5.0 which is about 6 years old. It was working fine on Thanksgiving. I tried to use it yesterday and get no image just vertical lines, pink and white if that makes a difference. The message in the camera says "Rec. folder is 101MSDCF." I have looked through the owner's manual but do not find anything to match that message. I removed the battery and put in a new memory stick to no avail. Help!

I have the same problem. When I turn on the camera I see this pink lines across the LCG display flikering. I still took couple of pictures to see how the image is going to look like, but it turn out to be the same way how it appeared on the LCD display. I changed all settings but nothing could fix the problem.

    Can someone help me please!

    Thank you

It seems as though you are a victim of the massive faulty image sensor batch. All you can do is get a new camera as Sony/Minolta/Fuji/Others have ended the repair program.

White in all pics

The pictures are either over exposed or there is a large smudge on one of the internal lens elements. A bad image sensor is also possible.

Pictures and LCD turn to yellowish looking

This sounds like it might be again a defective CCD imager. Note that some repaired cameras have been known to fail again with the same problem. Even so, Sony should still fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:
