Where can I buy the seals for the inside of the coffee maker. I fabracated one but it doesn't do the job. Everywhere I have looked tells me that they don't sell these things because it takes a factory trained repair person. help?

Same Problem

Aug 30, 2008

-   I turned the seal ring over to use the undamaged side.
The seal ring material is soft and has enlarged beyond the original size.
It now does not fit properly and allows the steam to leak.

Have you tried to obtain the needed parts from the local small appliances parts stores or the local fix-it shops - Most every town has fix-it shops where small appliances are repaired. These stores also sell parts. Inquiring may be worth a try.
Try calling the manufacturers customer service center. Check the manufacturers web site. Also appliance parts stores. These stores are all listed in the local phone books.
In my opinion and I could be wrong, you are being told "it takes a factory trained repair person" because those saying so want you to allow them to fix it for a price.
Which makes sense, if they are in the business of fixing small appliances. About the only cautions needed are dealing with the electrical connections and componets.
Check back on your question several more times. Other members posting replies in this forum topic may offer you additional advice, ideas, suggestions, test and or repair methods.
Use the reply button to add additional information or questions. Using this method moves the topic back up to the top of the list automatically.

Appliance is obviously not 'fit for purpose' and therefore, under consumer law, the retailer (not the manufacturer) must refund or replace as you have a contract with them as suppliers. As an appliance engineer of 36 yrs standing I've often met this problem with retailers trying to shift responsibility onto the manufacturer. If no result involve your local Trading Standards Office.

I had the same problem with the nespresso krups xn20 machine. After calling the Nespresso service desk they substituted free of charge the water tank, which has a little valve with seal at the bottom. It turned out that the problem was not the seal of the water tank, but the seal of the machine (onto which the water tank is installed).
I solved the problem by using Teflon tape (same type as that used to connect for water pipes) on the water tank, applying it at the appendix which goes into the machine.
It's been working ok since then (couple of days). The only problem could be the wearing-off of the tape after some time (you will have to reapply it).

if you are in brisbane australia, i suggest Sparkys Small Appliances at Albion on 0732627129. They are authorised service agents for this product and also sell the parts. I found that if they did not have the part, they will order it for you. They even post anywhere in Australia. They gave great customer service. They even have the genuine descaler for the Eam3200.

I have a problem with the rubber ring in the lid of the carafe. It comes off and then is virtually impossible to put it back on the way it came from the factory. Also, this makes it difficult to pour the coffee out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just purchased the cook's essentials mill & drip coffeemaker with thermal carafe. When you pour the coffee into your cup it leaks all over the counter. When you put the carafe back on the coffeemaker it leaks profusely out of the handle. I would belive that a seal is missing from the carafe lid allowing the hot coffee to seep into the trim ring then into the handle. This is a brand new appliance. Doesn't the manufacturer test these coffeemakers before selling them?? I need to rectify this problem soon. This specific style is the same as a Melitta coffeemaker that I owned a few years ago and I loved it. I don't love this one.

We have the same problem with our Barista Coffee pot. We have to stay by the pot when making coffee to avoid water or coffee all over the counter top. We probably need to replace a seal in the lid. Where or how can we find this part?

Comment by mawick, posted on Jan 20, 2008

The rubber ring that fits around the bottom part of the lid that screws into the carafe is missing. I cannot find where I can have it replaced. Any ideas?

Comment by Guest, posted on Jan 19, 2008

I have the same problem. The rubber ring has perished/melted, so they unit doesn't build pressure, and no one seems to be able to sell me a replacement ring. Although the unit is two years old, we have used it less than a dozen times and it looks brand new. Can't say I'd recommend this product.

Try here: http://www.lacafetiere.com/Consumer/Products/Consumer_Bialetti.asp
they are the UK distributer and stock all parts.
Best of luck!

Bunn home coffee maker, leaks water underneath the unit. It apparently needs a new seal. How to replace and where to buy. The unit is seven or eight years old.

I unscrewed the steel sieve like plate to find a tear in the rubber gasket that seals it to keep the water pressurised. I haven't been able to find a spare part for my Krups online anywhere yet??

Thanks

I have the Tracanzan Alfa Blue 4 cup and need a new seal. Whole Foods does carry some seals but they look too thick. Before go buy&try I decided to try the internet. Any help would be greating appreciated.

I need to find a top filler tray/funnel for a GR. The tank filler hole has become brittle from the heat of the tank and has broken away around the seal.
On the bottom of of the tray/funnel is a number 4852-A.

Looked all over the Web to find only customer replacement parts. Where can a tecie get the right parts?

I guess I'll call the 1-800 number in the morning.
