Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I want to change my motherboard of my laptop. My laptop is Compaq Presario cq60-415ee w/ a product no. ny252ea. What will I buy? Thank U!

Changing motherboards on a laptop is not easy. You can only change the motherboard with exactly the same as what is installed originally because they are designed specifically for that laptop case.
Changing motherboards in a desktop case is a different matter because desktop cases have standard mountings for motherboard to suit different manufacturers.

My screen on my compaq cq60-615dx notebook goes black after being bon it for like 20 min it comes back to where i was like 2 min later then the optical resoulition icon pops up

You can try reinstalling your graphics drivers with the CD included with your laptop. Alternatively, try running Windows Update.
If your laptop is still under warranty, I would consider contacting compaq about getting it repaired.

Need to know how to remove compaq presario cq62 screen

The Compaq Presario CQ62 is part of a series of Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC's. The actual Product Number is on the bottom of the laptop, in a white Service Tag. (P/N = Product Number)

Stated this because I am going to give you a link to a free Service Manual for the Compaq Presario CQ60 series of Notebook PC's.
Removing the LCD screen from the Display Assembly is the same for all of the CQ60 series.

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-compaqhp

On this page go down to the 6th line. The one that starts with > Compaq Presario 1100.
Go across and left-click on > CQ60

This is a PDF file. the computer you are on now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
(I would recommend upgrading to the newest version, Adobe Reader 9, if the computer you are on does not have it)

After you click on CQ60 you may not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds.
After you see the first page, it may take additional time for the file to fully download.
Suggest you let the file download all the way before looking through it.

You are not permanently downloading the file. If you wish to save a copy to your computer, and do not know how, state in a Comment.
(This way you can burn it to CD for safekeeping, and won't have to download again.
You can also delete it from your computer, and save harddrive space)

If you are aware of the following disregard;
At the top of the PDF file is the page number box. It is to the Right of the blue Down Arrow.
Removing the Display Assembly is on Page 62.

Fast way to get to that page.
Put your mouse cursor in the page number box.
Left-click once
Type 62
Press the Enter key.

A) Remove ALL power to the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery

B) Observe Anti-Static Precautions

C) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.
Mark each compartment for the area the screws come out of.
DO NOT mix them up.

NOTE*
In case your LCD screen is not physically damaged

An LCD screen cannot produce enough light by itself. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight is a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (Bulb)
Similar to the fluorescent lighting used in homes and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.
(Approximately 3 to 5 inches long, and half the diameter of a No.2 pencil)

An Inverter is used to provide power to the LCD screen, and the Backlight.

It has to reduce the power from the laptop for the Backlight.
It has to increase the power from the laptop for the LCD screen.

90 percent of the time the fault is the Inverter.
A small circuit board located behind the Bezel, and usually at the bottom of the LCD screen.

(Page 66)

This is an example of an Inverter for a Compaq Presario CQ60 series of Notebook PC's.
It is NOT THE Inverter you will need.

Base it on the entire Product Number, the size of the LCD screen, and the finish of the LCD screen.
(Glossy or Matte)
Also match the Inverter to the part number on the back of the LCD screen.

(Same thing for the LCD screen. MATCH the part number so you will get the correct one)

Prob with compaq motherboard

Hi,

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, I have seen your issue and would like to provide my solution on the issue...

Well, this is an issue that could happen with failure of Hard Disk Drive or Mother board type that you are using..

I think, this is to do with Motherboard specifications, since few Mother boards type or model will not support for Lagecy OS like WINDOWS 95/98.

Hence you to need to check from that point.

I request you to let me know the more information like Computer Model number and S/n and P/n number so that can research on the issue and provide you more information.

if you have any queries please mail at thumuvikram@rediffmail.com, I'll be glad to assist you..

Thank you.

Bye,
Vikram Kumar Thumu.
