Question about GE WSXH208A Front Load Washer
I replaced the door latch with the replacement part from GE closed the door and the 'alarm' sounded stating the door was not closed when I attempted to open and reclose the door lock/release would not release. the lock light is off but still will not open- as I tried to pull the door it started to separate so I stopped. I cannot locate any schematics online to assist in opening the unit to try and fogure out how to release the door.
The door will not unlock. The wash cycle completely finished and the light is off, but the door will not unlock. I tried finishing the load in different cycles, and it still will not unlock. I tried unplugging it for several hours, still locked. We pried it open with a screwdriver to get the clothes out, now the door will not close. Our guess, it is still in the locked position so won't let the door close.
Called a few repairmen, some say door lock assembly, some say circuit board. Washer is 9 yrs old. Don't they last longer anymore?
Perhaps you have to change your lock, this is a sensitive point & will affect the smooth operation of your machine. Re. the inbalance, you hv to screw up & lock the front 2 legs (with check nut), adjust the front legs (screwed up) only to see if the machine does not move during wash/spin.

I had the same problem with my washer. Ended up buying a new water discharge pump. Fixed the problem right away. Pump was $137.00 shipped to my house. Installs very easy... 2 Screws... Pull the cover plate at bottom of washer.. The pump is attached to the housing of the drain clean out. If you look in the right hand corner of the bottom of washer you will see it. It is white... Try to cycle your washer. Pull the electricity plug... Make sure no power. Take your hand and put on top of pump motor. My was very hot.... If so, chances are you have a bad motor. You will have to replace the whole assembly... This is a result of keeping the drain clean...

From what you are describing it sounds like the door latch assembly needs to be replaced. This is not a simple DIY job though. I would recommend seeking guidance from a professional technician to properly replace the door latch to avoid any future issues. Some of these intricate parts require precision and patience, therefore when replacing such components or removing them from your appliance, I would suggest seeking professional assistance. I hope this has been beneficial. -Matt
