Check prices on a current model that matches your features before even bothering to try to find a source for the part.
The annoying black box is usually a feature of the closed captioning called "Text" You should be able to go in to onscreen menu and select caption options. Unless you need to have the closed captioning on for medical reasons, it maybe best just to turn off all captioning options.

sOUNDS LIKE YOUR OVERSCANNING FOR SOME REASON.. MMM STRANGE AS USUALLY THERES AN UNDERSCAN PROBLEM IN THE VERT WITH THESE SETS.Opps sorry about caps. I would check to see the power supply ic and make sure its not putting out more then its supose to as I remeber those are between 125 and 130 volt dc output. as maybe the High Voltage shutdowns not working.oh is is too long and too wide??? if its only like too tall there is a small opot on the pcb thats for the verticle height buit its so small and easy to break off and if you do that the set will lose the verticle sweep totally. good Luck
