Find them on Ebay, and Sony website. Download free. Disks are totally useless, Vista or Iphoto do much better job in terms of sorting, labeling, taging. Dirvers that CD contain are loaded by windows, tiger and leopard instantly automatically, just plug in the camera and things will connect automatically. If you need a sense security, get any disc w50, w70, w120 etc, they ar all the same. I sell a lot of cameras. Don't spend more then $3 on that

Will the Quantaray 49mm to 55mm step up ring work on a Sony a100 DSLR camera

The step-up ring will on any lens with a 49mm filter thread, regardless of the manufacturer. The easiest way to find out whether it works with any given lens is to see whether the ring fits onto the front of the lens (you could also read the filter size written on the lens itself).
If it doesn't fit, purchase the appropriate step-up ring. That will be much cheaper than buying a whole new set of filters.
If the new lens(es) have a 55mm filter thread then you don't need the step-up ring at all. The filters will mount directly onto the lens.

I lost the software to my sony DSC-H1 camera and don't ant to purchase another disk?

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My dscw190 fell down while on. when i tried to turn it off an back on, its sayin please turn off an turn back on, and the shutter is not closing, and other than d screen sayin turn on and back off, its not...

This happened to me too. I took it to the store I purchased it from (a reputable store) and they basically said the camera had run it's course and it would cost more to fix the problem than it would to purchase a new camera. So I purchased the latest version of the same camera. I know this doesn't hellp much but apparently this is not an uncommon occurrence.

Auto focus drive not working. Makes a grinding noise and nothing happens. Sounds like a gear has stripped.

First try to use another lens If:
A. It does the same thing, bring your body to a camera repair shop.
B. It doesn't, you'll need to either buy a new lens or repair it at a camera shop.

I found a Quantaray 55-52 mm step down ring (Manufacture # 241664614) on Wolf Camera's website that I am interested in purchasing, but want to make sure it would work for me. I have some close up...

No. The 55-52mm step-down ring will let you attach a 52mm attachment onto a lens with a 55mm thread. You want a 52-55mm step-up ring.

E18 appears on the camera and the lens won't close

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Disk error C13:01

Any C13 error is a media error. First try formatting a blank disk in that camera itself. If that doesnt work, try blowing out the disk slot with compressed air. I wouldnt use canned air like you can get at office supply places because if the can is tilted some of the propellant can come out and gunk up the inside of your gear. If dry compressed air doesnt work, have it serviced by an authorized Sony repair shop.

Sony MVC-FD75 Camera won't accept floppy disk

It sounds as if the eject mechanism didn't quite do it's job last time it was used. It could be stuck half way between in and out. Try closing the camera and with a fully charged battery keep pushing the eject button and see if it clears the problem. You can imagine that after all those years dust and gunk has built up inside. It's just a bloody shame they can't build cameras today to last that long. At the worst all you'd have to do is pull the back off and have a good look at the drive mechanism. Or pick one up for $10 on Ebay and swap the drives over.
