Question about Wurlitzer Jukebox 1015 One More Time 100-Disc CD Changer

6 Answers

CD loads properly but turntable turns a couple times then stops.

Turntable turns breifly then stops and tries again. After about 30 seconds of off and on spinning (never any sound) it will return the CD to the carousel. Occasionally it will actually play a selection but can't be counted on. This is a Wurlitzer 1015 100 CD capacity. Thank you--- Mike

Had this same problem with my 1015; spoke with "Doctor Jukebox" from Folsom, CA about it. You can find him on craigslist.

Root cause: The laser isn't "seeing" the CD and interprets inability to see as being the end of the track, therefore, puts the CD back into the carousel.

Solutions:

1) Clean the lens. Be careful to use an appropriate lens cleaning solution. The lens is made of plastic and may cloud up if a harsh solution is used. Use a Q-tip dipped into the cleaning solution and gently clean the lens using a side-to-side motion, not a front-to-back motion. Wait for a bit until the lens is completely dry, then try playing a CD. (note: this fixed the problem for me)

If that doesn't work...

2) Replace the laser module. It's easy to remove with a torx. Be gentle when disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable and/or other connections so you don't bend the leads. Laser modules cost a few hundred dollars, so try Solution 1) above before replacing the module.

These sets are very common for defective spindle motors as we usually just replace them and that corrects the problem. But sometimes it doesnt fix it and it turns out to be a defective laser assy as any cd or dvd player/recorder must focus on the disc before a spindle will spin. Oh one more possible problem could also be the turntable could have gotten pushed down and wont let the lens focus.

Thanks

Problem looks like the laser might not be reading the cd's so that's why it returns it. Might want to get a Lens cleaner .. that should help it read your CD's . What do you think of this ?

Table Error

After replacing belts, turntable moves to position disc 1 in front of loader then swings back and forth 10 times and posts "TABLE ERROR" again. If I apply slight clockwise pressure to table, then disc loads OK. On unload, table rotates to position disc 1 in front, door opens, then table oscillates another 10 times and posts "TABLE ERROR" again. Any hints?

Hello,

Have you checked all the fuses or circuit breakers on the jukebox?
Are all the power supply led's lit?
Make sure that all the connection plugs into the boards are fully seated and making good connections.

After checking the above if the fault remains you will need to contact a Wurlitzer service engineer.

The door to the turntable will not open and the turntable just keeps trying to change. Had to unplug it to make it stop.

There is a problem with the rubber belt that drives the door of the turn table. Open the cd player and replace the rubber belt.

Wurlitzer 3600 Jukebox turntable problem

The 3600 has a hub that is supposed to play dinked and undinked records. They had 33rpm and 45 rpm records back then, so to change the record speed the undinked (small hole ) records pushed down the hub flat when it landed on it, which changed the gearing. When a dinked (big hole) record lands on it falls onto the larger part of the hub. So if the hub is down and stuck there that's your problem. After the hub has been pushed flat (because of a small hole record) it is supposed to rise up again when the record is returned to the carousel. Have a look under the turn table and push up the centre rod.

The cd turntable will not stay open to load/unload

the timing marks on the feeder gear and the tray gear have probably skipped a tooth from some one pushing it closed.there is a limit switch on the gear that tells the cpu to stop it.if it stops in the wrong spot,it will close after 10 seconds.take off the top cover.on the side of the tray on the right is a long track gear on the underside.there is a clip that hold it from coming out.push it and remove the tray.
check the timing marks on the other two gears .then reinstall the tray
