RCA 300W Blu-ray/DVD Home Theater System - Black RTB1013 Logo
Tyler J Kelley Posted on Jul 13, 2012

My RCA 300W Blu-Ray/DVD stopped working right after one week, I've only played two Blu-Ray's on it. The screen goes green and the speakers make an obnoxious noise. Totally frustrated.

I bought it one week ago at Target.

Sounds like your right side output is shot. And yes it can be fixed, but the cost factor would be higher than what you paid for the set itself. First see if your inputs are working correctly, this also could be your problem. Check all your connections.

SOURCE: when i unplug my rca rt2250 home theater system.

this is the amp IC and while unplugging and plugging it in again helps reset the IC for a little while , it will eventually completely quit and will need replaced
make sure that none of the speaker wires(bare wires) are touching or look like they might be where they are connected at
also if turning up the volume makes it cut out or sound bad then this will also indicate a bad amp IC

SOURCE: I have a RCA RTB

If you have the availability to connect it to the internet via the network jack on the back of the console, please do this and run through the set up to make sure that your firmware, is correct and updated!

SOURCE: I can't get a signal

My suggestions here are to check your connections from your player to your tv. Make sure that if you are using the red, blue, green, red, white composite cables, that they are properly seated and connected. Next check your tv, and make sure that your cables are connected properly on the tv and that your tv is on the proper input. If you are using a HDMI cable and you still have no picture on your tv, there is a slight possibility that your cable could be bad. Hope this helps, if you still have no picture at that point I would recommend calling the support number for your device!

RCA Blu-ray player model rtb 10223 does not work says no disk on screen

Your laser is not working, call 1800 252 6123 and get a return authorization number and address to send the main player to no speakers, they only charge like 45.00 flat rate and they will repair/repalce it and ship it back by UPS with a 1 year warranty! takes 4-6 weeks total turn around time.

My blu-ray player will not work

Sounds a lot like a bad laser. Depending on what you paid for it, is probably wouldn't be worth fixing if you had to pay for the repair.

Special features small

Apparently it's an issue when the special features are not HD. I saw on one of my blu-ray discs (don't remember which) and today on my 'Dr. No' blu-ray.
This is apparently fixable via a firmware update. You seem to have to download the firmware to a USB drive, then plug in the front of the blu-ray player. Trying this now. Here's where I found the solution:

Dvd player makes a clicking noise while playing disc

If in the audio circuit of the unit it likely is too expensive to find/repair--unless it is an expensive unit it likely will be cheaper to buy a new player.

The remote to my RCA DVD Player, Model DRC220N, has stopped working. I've tried new batteries, hitting the DVD button 1st, etc. Nothing works. The player itself still seems to work as the buttons...

You could try a universal remote (if one is available which will provide most functions to your player, such as STOP/PLAY etc.).

You can try a simple test on your existing RCA remote to see if it provides a 'frequency pulse'. Turn a radio on, select a black section of the AM band (not FM) turn volume up halfway, place remote near it, listen for pips and noises from the speaker(s) - if this occurs, the remote itself is OK. This is the cheapest idea to try first before going out and buying a new remote.

* If the unit does not respond to the universal (regardless of whether a remote code is required or not) then the IRD within the unit itself and its associated controller circuit may have failed (hence why the remote does not work). Repair of this requires a qualified workshop technician (because of the many surface-mounted components in the IRD controller circuit). *

But try the original remote-to-AM-radio test and/or purchase a universal remote or similar if necessary.
