Re: Whirlpool gas range model gw395leps00 error code e2...
The F3 E2 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board in the range senses an over-temperature condition in the oven.
This can be caused by a failed temperature sensor probe, a wiring problem between the sensor and the control board, or a failed electronic oven control board. If the oven is apparently not overheating when this error code appears, then your likely failure is the temperature sensor probe. If the oven is overheating, then you likely have a failed electronic oven control board due to a stuck relay not cycling the oven heating element off properly.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing. I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information. RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell. In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Some Washer ranges are equipped with electronic displays that indicate the time of day and the oven's temperature when it's in use. The display also alerts users to error codes including PF, or power failure, and various letter and number combinations that correspond to issues ranging from electronic control malfunctions to problems with the oven door latch. Washer F2 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F2 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F2 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F2, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in "Clean" mode.
Clear Error Code
If your oven display shows a letter/number combination, washer advises clearing the display. Press "UPPER OFF" or "LOWER OFF" on double oven models. On single oven models, press "OFF/CANCEL" to clear the display. If the code reappears, the manufacturer recommends contacting a professional service technician or contacting the Washer producer
The Tech Sheet included with Whirlpool ovens is meant for use by professional technicians servicing the unit. To address an E2 F3 error, a technician can check the oven's temperature sensor connection, measure the sensor's resistance and, if necessary, replace the sensor.
Thanks for using FixYa. Error F3-E2 in your Whirlpool oven means oven too hot and to resolve

Unplug the range. The oven temperature sensor has failed and must be replaced. Remove the racks. Remove the temperature sensor located up high on the back wall of the oven. It is a short thin round piece of metal.
