Question about Gateway 835GM (835GH) PC Desktop
My brand new seagate disk failed,not recognised by any pc and bios.The motor works, it can be heard. The recovery company i sent it diagnosed that,without opening it,obliged by the contract, MFT is damaged. I know what that means. My question is: HOW did they get access to the disk? I guess that they replaced an electronic faulty part. What else?
They were unwilling to answer.
In case I am not wrong I'll just have to find a new electronic part and then try to collect the messed bits and bytes with the appropriate software by myself. Since the disk was new, the .jpg data that i'm exclusively interested in must have been written in neighbouring sectors.
Hi, this is sudheer from india, i have problem for my pc hardisk.
last time os not loading one file curropted getting that msg. even not formating da drive and not installing os again. replaced hard disk, da new one also getting same problem. what is da problem not understanding, what can i do.

It rarely happens that MFT becomes corrupted. NTFS stores a copy of MFT that is called MFT mirror. If problem occurs, NTFS tries to synchronize these copies.
You can try to run Check Disk utility from Windows environment. Or if Windows is not bootable, boot from bootable CD-ROM to Recovery Console and run CHKDSK utility that could help you.
If the damage to MFT is serious, standard utilities might help you and you'll see "Drive cannot be accessed" message when trying to access the drive in Windows Explorer.
In this case I recommend you to use third party software, like Active@ UNERASER for DOS:
or Active@ File Recovery for Windows:
to access and save your files to another drive, and then reformat the partition.

you can't recognise your hard disk, but you can rectify your data from your damaged hard disk ( by using data recovery softwares ( ex: ontrack data recovery etc., ) ). This is the only option
& you can't use that hard disk in future.
