Iphone will not turn on! Shows Apple logo then fades out?

Leave the phone plugged into the car charger with the "plug into itunes" screen long enough to build a charge. It sounds like the phone is dying before it gets a chance to connect to itunes and start charging through the computer. If this does not work then the store clerk was correct and your battery will need replacing

Sounds like you have at least a broken battery. Apple should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it and replace battery. If that fails you need a new logic board. You can get the part at iPad Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at iPad Repair Guide.

Iphone 3gs wont charge, wont switch on, not showing on itunes! just dead

The only thing you can do with this issue is :

Hold the sleep /wake button and the home button at the same time for 2 full minutes

if you see a white apple appear- your good - just charge for 4 hours you should be fine

if the iphone still dose not turn on then - it need service

Iphone 2g battery

You'll have to let the iPhone charge sufficiently for it to proceed further from the boot screen. You may want to leave the iPhone charging for atleast half an hour before unplugging it.

I droped my iphone and screen turned white. what can i do to get it working again?

From Apple Support:
Display shows a white screen
  1. Turn iPhone off and turn it on again.
  2. If the iPhone will not turn off, try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple log or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPhone until it is fully charged.
  3. If that doesn't work, try restoring the device.
