Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Monitor will no longer display my 360

My Xbox 360 is connected to a monitor and has been working fine for awhile with the VGA HD cable. But last night while playing the sound was replaced by a high pitched interference noise that got increasingly louder. I tried to exit but it froze up so i switched it completely off then on again and now the monitor doesn't detect the xbox and says no signal. All the leads are connected properly and i can still hear all the sound fine. I even loaded up a game without the screen and could hear the noises. I also replaced my VGA cable with a brand new one but nothing changed. My concern now is it might be a fault with the xbox that i cannot fix so i would need yet another one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried hooking it back up to a regular TV to see if the 360 will work on it?

Problem caused by the GPU. I just fixed on the other day. you can fix them like the way you fix the 3 red light issue. you can get the repair kit for like $10. I got my from the site below.

No input signal VGA/Xbox

You are doing nothing wrong. The best thing to do, which you are doing, is to eliminate possible problems. Try a different cable, monitor etc until you narrow the problem down to a single component.

I have a sceptre model x9g-naga v flat screen monitor that I am trying to connect my x box 360 to. It allows me to play games, but when I put in a movie, it says, secure hdcp link not found. I was told...

A simple work around that could be able to fix it is by turning on the xbox, waiting until the screen showed the logo and the error message "secure hdcp link not found" then unplugging the hdmi cable from the back of the xbox and plugging it back in. Of course having to do this each time you wanted to turn on your Xbox would be annoying. (I have not tested this using VGA cable hookup though)

If you are asking how to change your Xbox to 480i then you will need simply use the red, yellow, and white cable as it defaults to 480i. (not possible with your monitor I don't think)
  1. On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Console Settings.
  3. Select Display.
  4. Select HDTV Settings.
  5. Select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV or monitor. 480p,720p,1080i,1080p, 1024x768, 1280x1024.

I am assuming from your TV that you are using VGA? With VGA then your system is going to automatically choose the best display for your monitor. You can go into the display settings as described above to adjust your display settings.

Hope this helps.

I hv an old style xbox 360 n i bought a vga hd cable.is it automatic 1080p

It depends on your monitor or tv's native resolution,
if your tv/ monitor is 1080p then you should be able to get 1080p in the xbox settings from the dashboard.
Also, any xbox 360 should display 1080p.
Hope it helped.

How do we connect xbox consul to imac and play

There is no way to connect the original XBox console to an imac's monitor. There was never an hdmi or VGA connector that was worth buying made for the Original XBox.

The XBox 360 has a nice VGA adapter. But no the original XBox, sorry!

Can I use my HP2009v computer screen with the X-Box 360 Elite

Hello,

In order to make this work you need the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable.

Following link will give you an image of the cable itself:

Unfortunately you wont be able to get the highest resolution with the cable.

Here you have a list of supported resolutions:

360 won't let me use HD display settings

Have you set the actual monitor settings to 1080? sometimes you have to do that first. If it's not set first the Xbox will only recognize it's current settings.

Xbox 360 turns on, but nothing shows on the screen

If the person that you bought it from on E-Bay had an HD Television. Then the Xbox console is set into HD from the Display options. If your TV is not HD, then It will not display. It can also be the other way around, if His TV is standard and yours is HD. Also try looking at the RCA's(The Part that plugs into the 360) And you will see a slider. Switch the slider, then turn it on. Tell me if that works, if Not, tell me and I will tell you what to press on your 360 controller to set the other menu. Hope this helps.
