Question about Nintendo Professor Layton & the Curious Village Games for DS

# Cannot get through gate to other side of village

I have solved 46 of 47 puzzles. Round the Islands is the only one I am having problems with.
I cannot get to other side of village, nothing lets me through.

Hi, Carole Jebso Once again don'd know whereyou are in the game. But have you come to a dead end. Like a large wall. Which is on the north side of St Mystere. Is that where you can't get through to the other side. If so, you need to find the key, which you have to search underground fo find. You have to go underground to find the key. . Which is hidded in the desk.
Once you have that head back to the large wall. If that is where you are in the game? that should help. Let me know Pitstop
thanks. Hope it helps.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
Good luck!

### Solving puzzle 46 in proffessor Layton's curious village biggest star

The puzzle requires you to work out that Earth is one of the five largest objects (at least from the viewer's perspective) and that the tree in the middle is one of the five points

You can see a picture of the solution on this page of the most popular walkthrough
http://professorlaytonwalkthrough.blogspot.com/2008/02/puzzle046.html

On a side note, a lot of players had trouble with this puzzle and it was replaced in the Europeon version of the game

### Professor layton & curious village puzzle 86

Naturally, the game should not do this and there is no fix for this kind of problem besides returning the game for a replacement (possibly after trying the game on another DS to make sure)

If you obtained a "second hand" copy of the game from some place like eBay, then you may well have a pirated copy of the game (which are known to have problems just like this one)

### I need help with puzzle island hopping

As the hints point out, you need to add bridge someone in the middle of the islands. Someone recently had a problem with this puzzle by seemingly trying to trace the entire route (you just need to draw a short line to connect two islands). If you look at both ends of the route and work out how to include the outer islands near each end, you should end up at a point in the middle where a bridge is needed. You can find a picture of the solution here if you need it http://professorlaytonwalkthrough.blogspot.com/2008/02/puzzle038.html

### Puzzle Master's House won't open

You haven't solved all 132 puzzles

The game tells you (both in the trunk and in the save slot) how many puzzles you've both found and solved

Players who think they've solved all 132 puzzles usually just look in the game's puzzle list, see that the last puzzle there is 132 and mistakenly assume that they must have solved all 132 puzzles

The puzzle list only shows those puzzles that have already been found, not every puzzle

Unless the found/solved count shows 132/132, then the last puzzle house will not open

If the game says, for example, that you've only solved 131 puzzles, then you have to very carefully look through the list to find the missing puzzle number ... if you don't find it, look again (some players have had to look through the list multiple times before spotting it)

Once you have the missing puzzle number, check this walkthrough to quickly find where the puzzle is (if it's not in Granny's shack)
http://professorlaytonwalkthrough.blogspot.com/

There's a puzzle index down the right side of the walkthrough you can click on

On a side note, this walkthrough can also be used for more puzzle solving fun, by looking at those puzzles that are specific to the other version (US/UK) of the game (there's over 180 puzzles between the versions)

### I've finished the game but haven't found all the puzzles

When you get to the top of the tower you have the option of going into the house or return to the village,In the village you will be able to complete Puzzles; otherwise go into Bonuses where there are Layton's challenges, & Top Secret.

### Night time in the village

Hi, if you are still trying to get to the cafe, for your next clue?. The cafe is through the clock tower door. There is normaly a man standing in front of the door in the day time, don't know about the night time. If he is there at night, you have to ask him, he will show you a puzzle, which you have to solve, then he will let you through the gate. Also you have to have 30 puzzle as well. When you do get to go through the gate, the cafe is right in front of you.
If you are still in night time mode, i think may be you have to ask every one, as they give out clues. when you do get to
day time mode, still talk to the man in front of the clock tower.
Hope that helps, hope I have explained it ok. let me know if it helped. Pitsop
