Re: No Internet connection
First of all I am interested to see the output of this on both machines: Start->Run->CMD [Enter] In the Black box type: ipconfig [Enter]
I would like to see this information if you could be so kind.
You need to check your TCP/IP Settings to make sure they are both set to DHCP which will make it receive a Dynamic IP Address. Also it should set the gateway address for you but you may need to specify the correct addresses for IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS to ensure immediate access to the internet. Most likely you are in this range but I could be wrong: 192.168.*.* IP 255.255.255.0 Sub 192.168.*.* Gateway
DNS Depends on your ISP but you can find out the information by logging into your router for instance: http://192.168.1.1 will get you to your router if your IP one of your clients is 192.168.1.*
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Connecting laptop/computer to wireless router If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem and Internet then -To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.
Desk top to internet is OK. How about Destop through Router connection to Internet OK? Assuming you want to connect wireless from Lap top to Network, need to configure correctly for wireless in Router. If you connect Lap top to router by wire and it didn't work that mean your router is bad.
Connect the router directly via lan to your computer.
goto setup of the router: usuallly via the ip-adress of your router (see manual, usually: 192.168. ***.*)
Now look at the network security-settings .
When you get signal strength excellent than at that time goto command prompt by typing cmd in run window and than type the following command at prompt c:\ipconfig / all and this command will show you the status of your all wireless and NIC card ip address. So pls check that wheather u are getting the ip address in the wireless connection or not. and if you are not getting it than 1> first of all connect the wireless router physically by lan cable and than open it in browser by typing ip address of it and than enable the dhcp in it with proper ip address range of you local lan. and than save and restart the router. This might resolve your problem and feel free if any other query.
