No way.
You have to try relocating Wlan Router antenna or add external boosted one.
Move to N protocol Router
Change Cordless to 5 Gig band model.
Check Micro radiation leaks and change it if over allowed limits.

I can't connect to internet through wifi with belkin 54g but netgear works fine, it can't assign an ip address and i have it set to automatic configuration.

You can try to change channel on the router
Connect Belkin router with a Cable to the computer Open router router interface with its IP address Goto wireless settings and change Channel to 6 / 11 and apply settings You can also try to disable Wireless security to check if it connect without security Check for the latest firmware for your router and upgrade it.

I'm trying to configure my Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point and i cant access the login page to do it. My IP is already set to 192.168.1.# so i thought i would be fine but it still doesnt work

Network settings on your computer
right click on lan network and properties go to ipv4 properties and use the following.
IP address 192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
router defaut in the default gateway settings (mine was 192.168.1.245)
enter that again in the dns primary (dont worry about the secondary)
plug an ethernet cable to your wireless router and type in the default gateway.
that will get you to your logon page.

hope that helps

Wi-fi in my Gateway laptop WAS working fine. Now can't log on

If you are experiencing this issue only after installing the "Norton" then add your Wireless Network as the Secure or Trusted Network in the Norton and check.

This should resolve the issue.

If you are getting any any error message then please post the exact error message so that I can help you further.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

My edimax router is not broadcasting a strong wireless signal but works fine with an ethernet cable. Any ideas how to get the signal strength higher or do I need a new router

Try moving the computer closer to the router or place the router up high and move the antenaes around. Check to make sure there is no interference with anything such as cordless phones, etc. You can also go into the configuration by entering 192.168.1.1 into your web browser and change the channel that the wireless broadcasts on. I would recommend channel 9 because by default everything is set to channel 6. After you configure reboot the router and the computer.

Hope this helps!

2wire gateway signal range problems

1. Put the router in the highest location possible in the house.
2. Make sure the gateway is installed in the center of the house rather than in a corner of house, so it will cover area on all sides.
3. Make Sure you dont have any devices that may interfere with the signal eg. cordless phone , close to the gateway.
4. Use channel 3 or 7.

Wireless set up problem - no gateway ip or limited connectivity

Connect using Lan Cable
be sure to enable java on your Browser.
Use ONLY IE: some router refuse other browser.
SET your PC on a static IP address on SAME subnet as your router (but of course different IP).
If subnet concept is NOT clear to just just ask here.
When connected with router (on Lan Cable) check every setting (WPA-PSK) TKIP key, Broadcast / Channel etc.
You can also disable every WLAN protection and restore it later.
Activate WLAN connection WHEN you are STILL connected.
Last but not least: SET your DNS IP address = your gateway IP (router)

2wire 1701 HG Gateway wireless not working

Hi,

There could be a lot of possibilities why you lost your connections at the same time. Could be windows update or changes had been made in your 2wire 2701 HG.Its impossible to say that your wireless adapters turned bad all at the same time.As what you observed , wireless light is off meaning your 2wire doesnt detect any wireless connection. You can try reconnecting them 1 at a time by going to your wireless connection tool or network connections.

If that didnt help, you can use your PC w/c is connected using the USB connection. Using this step, you 'l have a chance to edit and view your wireless network. For you to access your 2wire you must know what your 2wire address {default gateway}. Using your hardwired pc go to start > run > type in cmd then hit enter > on the Dos command screen type in ipconfig and hit enter> youl see your default gateway . It would look like this 192.168.1.254 for example cos sometimes it would vary depending what ISP you have, Open your fav browser and on your address bar type in your default gateway. That would lead you to your 2wire page, there youl have a chnace to view you home network. Check if your wireless encryption and you network name if everything is still the same. {Best thing is to change your wireless name or SSID. Then try to reconnect on your wireless connection for each computer and make sure you have your wireless encryption.

Hope that helps. Pls let me know asap if you need clarifications.

Cheers.
