I have a MITSUBISHI PROJECTION TELEVISION model WS-65809. it power up with a curved red lines across the screen. When the power cord is unplugged for about 24hrs the picture comes on clear for a while and...

When the power up the components get heat up
but some times the heat may be abnormal due to fauly parts or associate parts, and the cct will
malfunction.

Once you check the voltage of all power points and out put section of R.G.B, HORIZ., VERTICAL
in working condition.

Again you check the voltages of all above points when the set stats malfunction.

You can find the exact fault and repaire the set.

On my HD1080 Mitsubishi projection flat screen 55809 the picture is bowed on top and bottem and it look as if the projectors themselves are offset, but the picture is clearer as you come toward the center....

It could be one of two things: Either a bad solder joint or convergence IC failure.

Convergence IC failure is very common. The solution is to replace the STK chips, check fuses and the resistors next to the STK chips. Replace as necessary and re-align via the service menu. It is about a $300 repair at a tv service center. You will need the service manual if you decide to do this yourself.

Try This:
When you notice the symptons Use this simple test to verify.
Go to the users menu on the tv.
Look for the converge option probably under setup or video setting. Converge is short for convergence to align the red and blue colors to the green color.

If you cannot move the red either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for red section.
If you cannot move the blue either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for the blue section.

If you can move both in each direction then the problem is something else.

Note if one STK chip fails, you replace both regardless

Tv keep jumping at the top. the picture is green

This is likely a problem in a section called the vertical drive. A number of small parts need to be replaced. The green colour is due either to weak red an blue tubes or the green tube is over-driving. You might want to rethink spending any money fixing this...

Mitsubishi VS-50705 50 in apparent convergence problem.

First thing a tech would do is solder around Convergence amps then check to see if you can align by menu then if can not. Change amps and maybe resistors.

Red convergence wont move

if the red line is blurry and you have adjusted the screen focus control and does not work then you prob have a bad red CRT or bad red CRT fluid.........

convergence STK have nothing to do with the red being blurry
