Question about Phones
3 times now our phones have displayed line in use when they aren't. We can't get a dial tone even on our corded phone. After a period of time, they have started working on their own. I've tried disconnecting all of them and their batteries too. It doesn't make a difference. Is this a phone or a phone service problem?
Sounds like there is continuity on your wiring to your phone jacks. Continuity means that somewhere on your wiring two wires are touching and shorting out your signal. Call your service provider be it verizon or at&t and have them test your jacks back to the d-mark.

What you need is a dsl filter since you are working off a splitter. You can usually get these for free from your phone company.

Let's make this official, then. Problem has to be in the modem or some piece of the cable or phone company outside equipment. You should get them back out for a closer look.
