Question about Durabrand DUR7 Portable DVD Player
I bought this Durabrand portable DVD player from Walmart USA.when i tried to use it in my hometown India,i was told to use a convertor for my player.here we have an input of 220 to 240V and my adaptor reads input as 100 - 120Vac. what convertor or adaptor should i buy so that my DVD player works here in India??
Some times on the back or the side is a dial that changes the input voltage from 110v to 240v or visa versa or sometimes there is a screw plate where the input to the unit says 110v to either turn over exposing a new input stating 240v or visa versa some times there is a disc with a slot you can put a coin in and on turning it it changes the voltage input to the other voltage as most items will work on dual voltage the only thing that may not change is the Hertz setting as in various places it can change from 50 Hertz to 60 Hertz hope this helps

You need a transformer-type adapter that takes an input of 220-240V and steps it down to 120V output. If you bought the unit in the USA, you may have a problem if it is NTSC-only and doesn't have a NTSC-PAL switch to select the correct video format for India.

Wal-mart does sell replacement batteries. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2350787 For this particular unit. However; in the future I would suggest researching a particular item before buying esp from Wal-mart. As Durabrand doesn't even have a website.

Duarbrand portable DVD players are no longer supported by Walmart because the company contracted to manufacture them is no longer in business. Ripoffreport.com has several complaints on the product line. Walmart has been exchanging the item.

The manufacturer of the unit went out of business in November of 2007. Wal Mart was aware of it at the time and continue to sell the units. As a result Wal Mart is exchanging the item for one of equal or lesser value.

Durabrand is Walmart's home brand another words they own a company that makes that brand of products so they can sell it all cheaper than any other brand and make more of a profit from it. I could not find the company website so there is no way to order or request a replacement remote. You may have to buy a used one of ebay or buy a new dvd player altogether. I doubt these will work with codes but here you go.
Codes I found that you can try
codes listed: 0003, 0171, 0178, 0180, 0463, and 1034, 189, 220
I hope this helps, even if its not the answer you wanted regarding being out of luck on this one.Thank you for stopping by Fixya!. A Fixya rating would be appreciated if I helped with your question.
