I have a GSS25XSSQA SS refrigerator.It seems to have stopped making cold. The back panel of the freezer is covered with frost. The ice is not being made and water dispensed but isn't cold. the freezer side still feels cool, but meat is slowly defrosting. The refrigerator side feel warmer. on the control panel the turbo cool indicator is on. What can I do?

hi maria .a bit vague on details but if evaporator is frosty then defrost everything for 24/48 hours.to accelerate procedure use steam ;hair dryer;heater .(not too close with heat.u dont wana melt the plastics).then try.u might get lucky.if not u need internal check. 1-door seals 2-defrost timer 3-heaters 4-t/stat.5 pcb.hope this helps good luck.Ali

Frost buildup on the rear panel of the freezer indicates a defrost problem. Your model has the defrost timer built into the motherboard and for some reason that is unlikely to fail. What does go bad is the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat on your GSS25XSSQASS. Click HERE to view the parts listed as location 240 and 230 GSS25XSSQASS Freezer Components

The defrost heater is listed as location 230 in photo Here is a Link=> WR51X10042 Defrost Heater Assembly

And next is the part in photo listed as location 240 That is the defrost thermostat=> WR50X10068 Defrost Thermostat

Not sure if the compressor is running. If not, you'll need a repair man. Since fans are running, most likely the thermistor. Also, if you haven't unplug from the wall, wait 10 seconds then plug back in; this may reset the control board. The link below may help. GE Refrigerator Not Cold Enough

There should be a vent with a fan between the freezer side and the fridge side. Make sure the vent is fully open and fan running ok

you should have a dial or knob that says freezer colder or warmer if so turn it for freezer to get warmer thast should allow cold aiur from freezer to enter into ref. that should make ref. colder. if to cold then dail it back a little at a time till ref. is what u like. ok try that. later gator.

try turning of the frige and let it be of for 1day then put back on and see if will works usally does,if not next usally is the compressor does give enough cold.motherboards dont go bad usally very rare,check all the above before you buy motherboard.please leave comment,vote,note.thankyou

Power is on but nothing is working, not cold ,no water, no ice

Sounds like the unit needs a reset of sorts, Get your food into another refrigerator or ice chests and unplug the unit. let it stand open for several hours (just in case the vents are iced) and then plug it back in.
