Hi, yes there is a way. Follow this is step. On your desktop, right click the My Computer icon with your mouse botton, then select manage and select Device Manager and then loofor Network Adaptor on the list. Click on the plus sign next to it and you should see how many network card you have.
Another way is click on Start Menu, Setting, Control Panel, and Click on Network Connection Icon. Check how many of Local Area Connection icons listed here.
Hope this help.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Cannot connect to internet

Try these two methods below.

Method 1: Check your local connections at network and sharing center, if there are two enabled or active networks. If there is two active networks, click on Local Area Connection Link (for windows 7) on one of the active networks and disable it. Now right click the internet icon on your taskbar and troubleshoot problem. If it doesn't resolve the problem, you will have an option to resolve the problem as Administrator.

Method 2: Go to local area connection status on an active network, click properties then double click on internet protocol version 4 and make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are checked then click OK.

If it doesn't solve your problem. Please contact me so that I can assist you more further.

Acer doesn't connect to protected wireless internet

It looks like you've keyed it in once, but you keyed it in wrong, so the system thinks the security key is there.

Which Operating System?

You can try connecting to another secured network and see if it asks for a security code, then try going back to your network.

Try getting to the security code by going to the wireless network connection and highlighting your network then click properties.

I try make wifi my router from xfinity but i cant

Hi,

Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting!

The solution I'm suggesting works in my business (LAN installations) about 95% of the time. I trust that it will work for you.

Let's see if I can help you.

Begin by turning on your computer and your router

? Make sure your service provider has activated your account and services on the subscribed line. Please check with your service provider to confirm this.
? Make sure that you are using the latest drivers. You can download the latest driver from Driver Downloads Database.
? Make sure that you have entered the right username and password (case-sensitive) as given by your service provider. For example, in Australia: user@bigpond; in NZ: user.name.xadsl@xtra.co.nz.
? Open Internet Explorer;
? Click on 'Tools';
? Click on 'Internet Options';
? Click on 'Connections';
? Click on 'Setup'
? Click on 'I want to set up my Internet connections manually . . .';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'I connect through a local area network (LAN);
? Clock on 'Next'
? Click on 'Next' [This is not an error];
? Click on 'No';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'To connect to the Internet immediately . . .; and,
? Click on 'Finish'.

That should have you online. However, if it doesn't get you connected, do the following: Click on tools again. Click on 'Diagnose Connection Problems' and follow the instructions.

The last choice is to use the Setup Wizard. It seldom works for me but you might have more luck than poor me. Here are the instructions:

The Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up an Internet connection.

Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by:

• Clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button
• Click on Control Panel.
• In the search box, type network,
• Click "Network and Sharing Center"
• Click Set up a new connection or network
• Then double-click "Connect to the Internet".

All the best

Unidentfied network is connected, no internet access, i see a chair between the internet acces and the laptop. tried to reboot everything several times, turned off firewalls, nothing helps/

That unidentified network, have you connected to that before and browsed the internet? Just because you connect to a network, doesn't mean that network is setup to allow internet access. It could be a simple fact that you need to connect to a different network.

My hp dv 4 -1123us can not connect to unsecured network

Hello.

It could be possible that this network you are trying to connect to is only an access point and does not actually have an internet connection associated with it. Is this a network of yours or are you trying to piggy back on someone's? At any rate, what is your signal strength of this connection. If you are more than approximately 75 ft. away, you are not going to get a strong signal to be able to use the internet.

Unable to connect to the internet

There a very simple resolution to this issue.

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
  3. there would be an icon labeled Local Area Connection, right-click on it and click enable
  4. try connecting to internet again, like you generally do and it should connect.
if you still face issues, post back.

Network Adapter

Hi,

Based on your post/description:.
1. “I am able to connect to a wireless network but am not able to connect to the internet.”
Indicates that your wireless network adapter is working since "able to connect to a wireless network". The "not able to connect to the internet" may be settings/configurations.
2. “When the computer tries to self diagnose, it says there may be a problem with one or more of the computer's network adapters
Which can only be your wired network adapter (Ethernet) but since you are not using that but your WiFi, should not make any difference.

To simplify, let’s focus on the Internet connection. Pls verify/determine that:
a. the wireless network is connected to a modem and can access the Internet;
b. the brand/model/version of the wireless Access Point/Router and its IP address;
c. the wireless security method being used by the network (WEP, WPA, MAC filter); and
d. the IP settings given by the DHCP server (which is also the router) to your PC which includes IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway & DNS Servers.

Pls post back results of a, b, c, & d that we can figure out the solution for your concern.

In the meantime, you can try right clicking on your networking icon (bottom right side) and click on repair.

Good luck and kind regards.
