Hall sensor my LG WM2277H needs a new hall sensor. The repairman says that when replacing the sensor you have to replace the motor too. Does that sound reasonable or not?

No. Actually, the Hall sensor, part number 6501KW2002A, is covered by a 7 year part warranty.

No you do not have to replace the motor when replacing the hall sensor. unless the motor is not reading on the hall sensor. most of the time it just the hall sensor that needs replacement

How do you replace a lg drain pump for model WM2277H? Washer shows error message LE and will not drain

Hi

Error code LE indicates that either the motor is not turning or has locked up for some reason. It can also be due to Hall sensor which monitors direction and speed of the motor. If the sensor is faulty then also this error appears. Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor. To make sure it's not a locked motor, try turning the drum with your hand. And, if there is any resistance while turning the drum or the drum doesn't move freely then the motor is locked and you'll need to get it replaced. If the motor seems to be fine then you would need to replace the Hall Sensor. To replace the hall sensor, take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Motor makes a growning noise when in spin cycle like a starting compasitor not letting it go in high speed

This is the direct drive system that has failed. This is most likely a bad Stator/or Hall sensor. Depending on when you purchased the machine, you may have a seven or ten year warranty on the direct drive system. The stator will be covered, and needs replacement.

I have an lg wm2277h washing machine, i keep getting LE error at display how can i fix this?

This is caused by a bad Hall Sensor. when it is bad it tells the computer that there is too much load on the motor, therefore giving you the LE code, otherwise known as a (Locked Rotor Error). It is cheap and fairly easy to replace, the part can be ordered at Sears Parts, using your model number. For information on how to perform your repair, please reply.

The letters lecomes up when i put on the machine

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. LE error message indicates the control board has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the Hall Effect sensor board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in US). It only takes around half hour to replace it with a new one. Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

LG code for motor overload-- I am in the repair service and need more instructions on a LG wm2277H

Unplug remove the back. Loosen large bolt in center of rotor. Slide rotor off of spline. Look at the stator with the windings. At the bottom of the stator where the harness plugs in is the hall sensor. Remove the 10 mm bolts holding the stator on and don't let it drop. Un plug the plug and snap the hall sensor off and snap the new one on. Re assemble.

I HAVE A LG TROMM WM2277HB and its not spining i keep getting a LE ERROR CODE

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000
