Question about TallyGenicom 8008 Laser Printer
We have 2 printers in our school and both are exhibiting the same problem. Halfway down the printed page (A4) a ghost image is superimposed on the original. Both machines have had the photosensitive green belt replaced and there is no sign of any residual image on either of them. Is it possible that the problem is with the main drum and if so how do I fix it.
The residual image often occurs if the Transfer Drum cleaning roller is not located correctly in the printer, as this cleans the previous image of the transfer drum. In some cases where the printer has been moved or shipped, this cleaning roller may need to be relocated in the printer to ensure it is in contact with the transfer drum.
I believe the cleaning roller on the 8008 is located just behind the OPC belt, try removing this and clean the contacts at each and of the cleaning roller.
Ensure the cleaning roller fits back in the printer ok and give it a try.
