I was watching a dvd and suddenly the tv picture went all black and white, started flickering up and down the screen. The sound was fine but the flickering wouldn't stop. I turned the tv and the dvd player off, and turned it back on but it kept going. I don't get regular tv channels with this set, so I don't know if it could be the dvd player. But even just the loading screen for my dvd player has the flickering!

Re: TV picture flickers
If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection.
Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too.

We played Wii sports and fit for few hours than tv started to flicker and change colors to green and black and white. We shut down Wii and not TV screen doesn't show any picture. The power is there and the sound... but the screen is just blue. Any one experienced anything similar?
Was it the house power flickering or the tv poping off and on? If the house power you may have damage in the tv. Try unplugging it for 20 minutes and the plugging it back in. May need to be reset......If this doesn't help, it will need to go to the shop.....
I think the solution to your problem is adjustment, not of the brightness but either the `contrast' which is probably too high, or the `sharpening' if your set has this function.
Too much sharpness will cause a shimmering effect, especially where you see an edge between colours.(due to ringing at a very high video frequency).
Too much contrast can start to turn the video signal upside down, causing noise on the peak white in the picture.
Another cause is if the RF signal into the aerial socket is too large,
This can be corrected by an attenuator, costing about £2.
6dB or 10dB can be tried.
