Cmos battery is underneath. Take off fan cover. remove fan screws x 4. Then lift black cloth on right hand side. You will see the offender. Lift the battery from the left hand side gently with a small flat head screw driver....

If it is accessable by an end user it will be located under one of the removable panels (ram cover etc) or under the keyboard.

it it usually in a plastic cover and connected to the motherboard by a black and red wire going into a small white plug, it will fell like a coin beneath the platic wrapper, these part would usually need to be ordered for the specific laptop and can be found cheaply on sites such as ebay

you can try to
Remove the laptop battery, locate the cmos battery inside the laptop, remove it then wait 5min, plug in the power, switch on the laptop and then the moment it switches on remove the power plug. Then put the cmos battery back, then the laptop battery and turn it on. All should be right.

Where is the cmos battery located on the samsung r60 plus

Glad to HELP YOU!

As a rule of thumb: for laptops/notebooks/netbooks the CMOS battery is located under the keyboard. So you have to remove the keyboard in order to reach the CMOS battery.
Here I've found for you a nice video that will show you everything in detail.

GOOD LUCK!

Time and date stop when laptop powered off.

it sounds like the cmos batt had the same problem with my desk top once changed cmos batt all was fine .the batt is located on the under side of the laptop you will see some removeable panels just check under these, but be carefull the batt might be soldered in, some are some are not. if soldered in you might want to get a professional to change it as the heat could damage your computer.
hope this helps.

How do I replace a dead cmos on acer 4520LCi travelmate laptop? The laptop no longer keeps track of system time when shut off completely. Can you tell me the exact location of the cmos so I can be able to...

Hi,

what you replace is not the CMOS, but the CMOS battery.

On an ACER from those years the CMOS battery looks like a coin, or a coin wrapped in plastic and connected to the motherboard.

On most models from same series the battery is located on the lower side of the motherboard, like on picture below:

On some model the battery may be located underneath the keyboard.

Here disassembly instructions for a similar model.

Locked out of BIOS

unplug everything from the laptop, remove the battery from the back and hold the power button for 30 seconds. On most computers, this will reset the cmos without needing to remove the cmos battery.
