Miele Coffee Machine

Hi, when I bought my house I had a built in Miele coffee machine included in the purchase. It worked for about 2 months and then after that I recieved an error message in German which translated to something like Descale required. However I have tried everything and the machine does not allow me to descale; when I turn the machine on the error message shows and nothing else happens. Is this a problem youv'e come accross before, I'm guessing it's like a car if you don't get it serviced after 6 months a red light comes on and won't turn off until you've paid $$$ to service it :-)
