Were is the battery in my c330

The battery is located inside the GPS but is not readily accessible.
The unit must be disassembled in order to access the rechargeable Li-Ion battery. To disassemble the unit, the decorative border around the screen must be peeled off (It is held on with adhesive). Once removed it should expose the screws that hold the plastic enclosure together. Garmin StreetPilot c330 Battery Replacement

Hi, im looking for a original price for Evesham Navigation model: 7211, or where can i find the price list. Thanks

Don't make the assumption that GPS navigation systems are all expensive - the Evesham Nav-Cam 7700 device is one of the cheapest ones available, retailing for $160 with a $5 shipping fee. The specifications (available after the jump) might not amount to much, but if you're looking for a basic GPS system without the frills of MP3 and video playback, the Nav-Cam 7700 offers value for money in theory. After all, you already have your iPod for all your multimedia needs, so why purchase a device with redundant functions?

My garmin 265w. I can not get a charge to last more than an hour and it takes forever to charge

it probably has a Li-ion battery and they start loosing the ability to hold a charge just as soon as they are manufactured. If your Garmin sat on a store's shelf for a year, it had already lost about a third of its ability. Li-ion batterys last about 3 years.

My battery is 2 year's old and is now only lasting 30 minutes after fully re-charging.

Two years is actually pretty good for a rechargeable battery in regular/constant use.
Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries have around 500 recharge cycles and then will loose capacity very quickly as for your unit.

This internal Li-Ion battery will now need to be replaced.

Hope it helps.

Is there an internal battery that should allow unit to be on when not in the cradle?

Yes there is an internal 'round' Li-Ion rechargeable battery (3.7V rated around 2300mA) inside your GPS.

If your unit cannot be turn-on out of the cradle, after it has been charging for some times, then it may have reached its useful life and will need replacing.

Hope it helps. Let me know how you go.

I need to get panasonic lithium ion rechargeable battery cgr18650c the one i have no longer takes a charge..

Try searching on eBay using "cgr18650c" as the search item and you will get a few hits. I am not sure which country you are in but there are a few business sellers showing in various counties. They also seem to be relatively cheap - typically around $5, £3, E4 etc.

Batterys

  1. Order a new battery. http://www.all-battery.com/ It was LG Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 2400 mAh Rechargeable Battery with Tabs. Original battery is 1,800 mAh so the replacement should last longer.
  2. Take the screen cover (faceplate) off and unscrew 4 screws. You will need small Philips head screwdriver.
  3. Pull off the front of the GPS. Be carefull with the GPS antenna. Make sure you remember its position so it is easier for you to assemble it later.
  4. Unscrew 2 small screws holding metal battery retainer strip. The battery is behind it. Pull battery out and disconnect it from the board.
  5. Cut the heat shrink tube the battery is in and de-solder the joint.
  6. Solder new battery. A small 15W soldering iron will do the job perfectly. Make sure not to overheat the battery.
  7. Insulate the solder joints.
  8. Put the new battery inside a heat shrink tube. You can get it from HomeDepot. It is ¾ inch diameter.
  9. Use a heat source (I used a gas lighter) to “shrink” the tube. Again be careful not to overheat the battery as it may explode.
  10. Put battery back into instrument and screw the metal band back onto the battery.
  11. Assemble everything back together.
*NOTE* Lithium Ion batterys do not take heat well. Leaving your GPS unit on the dash on hot sunny days will decrease its expected lifespan.

I have Blankpunkt Travalpilot Lucca , the battery doesnt charge up in the house or on a journey. I think it is possibley a dud battery. I have owned this navigation system for about year & am pleased...

Hello Tiptoe,

I'm not sure if these are the answers.

I finally heard from Blaupunkt and have the part number you require:
  • Apologies for the delay, there has been a change of part number and I
couldn't check the pricing information due to website problems.
  • The part number for the battery is 8619 003 386, and the price including
    VAT and delivery is £24.40
  • Please don't hesitate to contact us should you wish to order one. We
accept all major credit and debit cards as payment.
  • Tel. 01249 817370 Fax. 01249 817346
However, research leads me to believe that the battery is not at fault. The battery charging circuit may have 'lost' the battery because it was discharged completely. As suggested by the following I found online.
  • If a Li-ion battery is left discharged after use, the self-discharge will further drain the pack and eventually trip the protection circuit at about 2.5 volts per cell. At this point, the charger will no longer recognize the battery and the pack appears dead. Only specialized equipment or advanced battery analyzer will be able to re-activate the protection circuit and recharge the battery.
Charge for about 30 minutes before storage if the Li-ion battery is depleted.
Do not stockpile lithium-ion batteries; and avoid buying dated stock. The aging process cannot be reversed and cycling will not improve.
  • The self-discharge of the lithium-ion battery is 5% in the first 24 hours after charge, and then reduces to 1% to 2% per month thereafter. The safety circuit adds about 3%.
  • High cycle count and aging have little effect on the self-discharge of lithium-based batteries.
It suggests to me that a specialist will be able to get the unit to 'accept' the old battery again. Putting in a new battery will not solve the problem in itself.

Hope I have helped.
