Select the input channel for your Fire TV - Turn on your TV and select the input channel for the HDMI port you used to connect your Fire TV. You should then see a loading screen with the Amazon Fire TV logo 4.
generally that sign means that there is no signal from the transmitter of the tv company
if changing channels shows as programs then it is at the tv station
if you are moving the aux input selection and there is no wii or dvd,cd pc connected it will show as no signal
basically it is no input signal into the tv set
You may have paused a still image on the TV. Information channels and video games left on pause will burn images into the screen. You may opt to find a signal generator that can produce a white screen Sometimes this will erase the image/ghost you see. See a TV Repairman, and show him this info! Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.
How is the player connected to the TV? It could be S-Video, HDMI, RCA, or Component Video cables. My guess is that you're using component video cables. There will be three wires that carry the video signal to the TV, and each wire carries one color. There will be a blue, yellow, and green cables. If one of these cables is not seated properly, it can cause only one or two of the three color signals to make it to the TV, causing the image to be discolored. You should check the connections of the cables. You'll also see the sound cables, probably red and white. Do not get the red video and the red sound cable mixed up!
You know how to reset the tv to its factory setting, I think you are a technician. Second thing you can do is software update. Go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 . If it doesn’t work. Replace the Main board (UB board). Part # A-1547-086-A Cost approx $320. Knowledge obtain from: Repair experience on same symptom. Parts reference: Andrews electronics, 800 289 0300.
You may have to access the initial setup menu to force the set to look at the cable input.
Although that is typically the default today, it may be looking for signals from an antenna.
Broadcast and cable use different frequency ranges so the set has to be able to see the range you are trying to watch.
