Question about HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
It was all working fine. Then two days ago my Mac stopped talking to my HP7210 AllinOne printer. Having fully uninstalled and attempted reinstall (including making sure Mac not connected to printer until search for device is about to commence) the HP Set Assistant hits a wall when attempting to Select Device. The options are USB or TCP/IP. Neither works and the end result is "No Devices Found. I'm at a loss what to do now. The only thing I can think of is that the cable is faulty. Please help.
I suspect you are right that it's the USB cable. If the printer does TCP/IP you should try plugging an Ethernet cable from the printer to an empty port in your router. Get the IP from the printer configuration page and print to the IP using a general postscript driver. If that doesn't work, it's the printer...if it does you can start troubleshooting back to the machine.
