Question about HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP7210 Installation to MacOSX 10.5.5. No Device Found

It was all working fine.  Then two days ago my Mac stopped talking to my HP7210 AllinOne printer.  Having fully uninstalled and attempted reinstall (including making sure Mac not connected to printer until search for device is about to commence) the HP Set Assistant hits a wall when attempting to Select Device.  The options are USB or TCP/IP.  Neither works and the end result is "No Devices Found.  I'm at a loss what to do now.  The only thing I can think of is that the cable is faulty.  Please help.

I suspect you are right that it's the USB cable. If the printer does TCP/IP you should try plugging an Ethernet cable from the printer to an empty port in your router. Get the IP from the printer configuration page and print to the IP using a general postscript driver. If that doesn't work, it's the printer...if it does you can start troubleshooting back to the machine.

How come I can get Netflix on 1 tv and not the 2nd tv I worked fine until yesterday it stopped on the 2nd tv but other sites work on it

Start by troubleshooting whether your second tv has an appropriate internet connection. I have found that with multiple devices connecting to the same NETFLIX account, often has intermittent connectivity problems attributed to the device connection to the internet.

Works perfectly but will not print at all. Copies fine.

Hello Michelle,

The fact the pages are only coming out blank when you print from the computer points to either the driver or the cable connection.

We’ll start by addressing the drivers.
Let’s remove the printer first.

  1. Click on the apple icon in the top left.
  2. Select “system preferences”
  3. Select “print and fax”
  4. Highlight the MFC-7420 and press the “-“ icon.

Now we need to remove the driver package.

  1. Open your Macintosh HD (in the finder)
  2. Go to Libraryè printer
  3. Drag the brother folder into the trash bin.
  4. Empty the trash bin
NOTE: you may need to restart your computer before you can empty the trash bin
  5. Restart your computer after the trash bin has been emptied
NOTE: You have to restart even if you had to restart once before.

Now you will want to install new fresh drivers.
Please choose the link for your OS

Mac 10.6 (snow leopard)
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/brotherprinterdriversformacosxv106.html

Mac 10.5 (Leopard)
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/brotherprinterdriver11.html

For versions of Mac 10.4 or earlier, you do not need these drivers, they will be installed automatically.

Now you need to install the brother drivers for printing.
Use this link, choose your version of Mac then click on “search”
On the next page, you want to use the CUPS driver download.

Please come back and vote or leave some feedback, it will let me know whether it helped so I can improve and it will encourage me to keep on helping.

Thanks,

Pat

My philips gogear sa6185/02 is not being recognised by my pc

I updated my Norton antivirus and my computer stopped recognizing my player. After a couple of days of working on this, I found out the problem. The program, "Bonjour" had been removed from my computer. I downloaded it from Apple and now my player is syncing just fine.

Here's a link to the download. Hope this helps.

I need an HP LaserJet driver that is compatible with MAC OS X that will support HP LaserJet 1100

Can you post your solution on the same page as your problem and comments?

I found a solution but saw that you got it solved before I could post and this is what I found http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs

I found it on the Linux OpenPrinting site but this package works with Mac OS X as well. It also works with more than 776 printers.

This is an HPIJS for Mac OS X and the page gives package details describing the drivers as well as installation instructions. I work with HP computers at my job but have not yet had a chance to try this out on the MAC operating systems.

I'm glad you fixed...what a feeling! LOL!

Logitech quickcam driver for mac?

Hi, I found the solution to make Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX works perfectly with my imac G5 10.3.9. First I download macam and next I down load hacktvcarbon or icamshare type of program(there are many of them, some are free some are not). After that, it can record both vedio and audio. Took me couple hours but very happy! Now it works with Skype and also work as recroder. Thanks to macam support feedback! Here is the link that help me through.

Logitech to Mac

I had a search and found these Q&A's, so see if these can sort out your problem. Q. Can I talk/see to Windows users? A. Yes, there are video conferencing standards in existence, and if these are adhered to and implemented properly it should mean that Mac applications could connect to Windows applications - or even dedicated hardware solutions. However, at the moment, the simplest way is to use iChat on the Mac, and AIM on the Windows system. The results are nowhere near as good as an iChat to iChat link, but it works. Also, consider iVisit, Yahoo Messenger, SquidCam or ohPhoneX. Q. Can I use Virtual PC on the Mac to use MSN Messenger, and so talk to Windows users that way? A. In theory it might work, in practice I've not got it to work using Virtual PC 7 and a USB Logitech webcam. (Virtual PC will definitely NOT support the FireWire iSight camera). The USB camera required drivers to work on the Virtual PC, and installing them caused my iMac G5 to crash. Even if it did work, Virtual PC is NOT fast at this kind of thing and would probably not work very well at all with video conferencing. If you really need MSN Messenger to work quickly with video, it's almost better picking up a cheap PC.
