You may be able to repair your hard drive, and continue using it.
Visit the link below and decide if this utility is worth it to you. It is a small but extremely powerful tool used to repair hard drives back to their original state. It also provides exceptional preventative maintenance. I am not selling you this product. I am simply letting you know what we use and of its existence. Other options are to assure a positive connection between your drive and the computer. Examine the bottom and edges of your laptop for access panels held in place by screws.
There should be labels or symbols (a short cylinder, or stack of cylinders, the letter s, the letters HDD, HD, etc) Remove any screws found on the edges of this pannel and assure that your drive is infact making good connection with the laptop by applying light but steady presure.
You have another possible issue that may be caused by a backup battery dying, and your settings reverting to default. Address your boot settings in the BIOS if you have not already.
