Have you tried uninstalling it?
Uninstalling from control panel or when in "computer" and selecting - Uninstall or change program - and then re-installing might work.

My dimension 8400 freezes. It won't load windows. It freezes at the windows logo.

Welcome to Fixya!

What you need to do and I am sure you have done so already is leave it to load. Give it time as it may be having difficulty processing the operating system.

It is possible that the Microsoft Widows Installation has become currupted, it will therefore need to be repaired with the aid of the Microsoft Windows installation CD.

Contact a computer technician to repair the installation if need be, a repair would simply correct any errors detected by the application therefore keeping your data safe. Run an anto-virus scan to be sure that there are no viruses running.

Take care!

Very slow pc since firewall turned to off

You may have a virus or malware? you need to scan your PC and remove any if infected, the best thing to do is use Housecall, this is an online detection and removal it's safe and works. Go to the link below and follow the instructions.
You shouldn't really turn off the firewall as this stops viruses and malware from infecting the PC. Once you have sorted the problem turn on the FW and install an antivirus system.

Windows explorer has a problem and don't open, the aplication has a problem

That's a bad problem as Windows uses Explorer for nearly everything.
First of all, reboot. Windows sometimes is able to right itself with a reboot as it goes over it's own files and checks for mistakes.
Second, scan for adware. Adware is software that is installed on your system, not specifically for malicious purposes, but for capitalistic purposes. Other people make money off of the data they collect from your computer. Either way it's certainly without your consent, often causes computer problems like this one, and you really don't want it there. Really. Adaware is a great tool that is also free to use for personal computers. Download it, install it, and have it scan your system before you go on.
Thirdly, scan for virii. A Virus is much like Adware only it's purpose is always malicious and you really want it gone. It could be reading your email, looking for financial data, or just seeking to reproduce itself at your expense. You don't want it there. Really. Many antivirus companies give thirty day free trials of their software, so do a google search for "free virus scanner" and you'll be given more than a couple to choose from. Pick one you like the sound of, download it, install it, and have it scan your system before you go any further.
If you've done all these steps and the problem still isn't rectified you may be looking at reloading your Windows operating system, so be sure you've backed up your important data before considering next steps.
Good luck, William

How can get rid from Thinkpoint

A "Thinkpoint" is a computer-virus. On a virus-free computer, Google-search for 'remove thinkpoint'
to get some good advice.

Or, follow best practises, which state that you can never remove 100% of a computer virus.

So, disconnect the old disk-drive, and purchase a new disk-drive.
Install Windows onto the new disk-drive.
Install anti-virus software on the new disk-drive.
Connect the old disk-drive as a "slave" device.
Copy all your data files from "old" to "new".
Use the anti-virus software to scan the "old" disk-drive.
Completely "wipe" the old disk-drive, and then use it as a "backup" drive,
e.g., once a day/week/fortnight, copy everything from your 'My Documents' folder to that "old" drive.

My Kodak Easyshare camera won't transfer photos to the computer, but I can have them printed in drugstores, etc. What am I missing? Operator error I'm sure! Thanks!!

Try to install the software on your computer first. Here are the steps:

  2. Place the Kodak EasyShare software CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  3. Install the software:
spacer.gif Windows OS-based computer-if the install window does not appear, choose Run from the Start menu and type d:\setup.exe where d is the drive letter that contains the CD.
Mac OS X-double-click the CD icon on the desktop, then click the Install icon.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
spacer.gif Windows OS-based computer-select Complete to automatically install the most commonly used applications. Select Custom to choose the applications you wish to install.
Mac OS X-follow the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: When prompted, take a few minutes to electronically register your camera and software. This lets you receive information regarding software updates and registers some of the products included with the camera. You must be connected to your Internet service provider to register electronically. To register later, see
  5. Restart the computer. If you turned off anti-virus software, turn it back on. See the anti-virus software manual for details.
For information on the software applications included on the Kodak EasyShare software CD, click the Help button in the Kodak EasyShare software.

I want to make my computer clear of viruses allways

Sounds reasonable. To do this you will need to select, install and run a quality anti-virus program. You will get as many opinions as people replying on which program is best. If you need a free one to begin with, look at AVG Free. Check here:

Symantic anti virus is not getting instal

I'm not sure what is causing this issue but I can tell you that Symantic AV will do more harm than good. If you have window vista & have any web sense at all you don't need it. AV software is the biggest conspiracy in computers. They only cause problems & never fix them.

Cannot install VersaCheck Gold 2008

First, you need to un-install the symantec software from your computer through control panel as some virus protection software does't remove easily. You must use windows uninstaller or a software called "c cleaner" than can remove any existing software & other registry entries from your computer that intrupt to install new software.
