My watch stops for no apparent reason and won't start again until I pull the knob to change the date and/or time. It works for a few hours or days and then stops again. I understand it is an automatic/no winding watch.

sounds like the oil is contaminated and causing undo friction or the main spring is ether broken or slipping. Time to service your watch. call me 707-338-3207 www.finewatchmaking.com
