My friend has a Phoenix 70-300, 4.5-5.6, MF/AF zoom lens she used on a film Canon Rebel. Is this lens compatible with the latest Canon Rebel DSLR cameras for sale now?
Yes.
The Phoenix 70-300mm AF lens will be suitable to work with a Canon Rebel DSLR camera if you plan to capture images with sufficient light. This won't work for low light photography. On considering image stabilization at low shutter speeds, a 55-250mm lens will be fine. If you want to capture with a full frame, then go for this one. Another option is a 100-500mm lens to consider if you want extra length for a full frame. Send it in. Don't even think of trying to fix it yourself. Once you start to disassemble the lens, you will find it impossible to reassemble it yourself. Lenses are often designed so that following the order of disassembly in reverse will not work on reassembly. It is allot cheaper to pay for the repair of your problem then to pay to reassemble a collection of parts.
