ASUS USB BT211 Not Working

I'm having a problem getting the Bluetooth dongle working, but my computer doesn't recognize it as a Bluetooth device. I got it in hopes of being able to use my Playstation 3 remote for my games, since I have Motioninjoy, and to use my Wiimote on my computer too. But it doesn't work at all. In fact, there isn't even a Bluetooth section in my Device Manager. I've tried to look online for answers, but everything I've tried doesn't work and I'm getting very frustrated. Can someone at least figure out why I don't have Bluetooth?

SOURCE: usb device not recognized, works only when plugged on hub

All PCs provides power supply via USB port. The power is controlled by electronic circuit. Sometimes when overloaded the circuit burns out (the last controlling transistor, actually). This does not prevent the data communication, because it is separated circuit. But if the device is not powered it cannot communicate. When you plug the USB device to powered USB hub, then all go right.
Are you able to use the USB ports with other USB-powered devices like USB sticks, mouses, cameras? If not, the mentioned circuit is burned out. If they work OK, then your internal USB hub provides less power current than needed. In both cases there is nothing to do. The circuit resides on the mainboard of the laptop and replacement is expencive. Use it with that external USB hub you have.

Testimonial: "that makes sense, although sad that i have to get a powered usb hub somewhere, although i wouldn't know which ones are powered or not, i have this hub that has 4 ports that wouldn't work so i assume that one's not powered. tried to look for small hubs but it doesn't say anything about being powered or not, it'll be quite expensive to buy and try as much as i can. can you suggest a small enough powered hub anywhere? thanks again :)"

Vivo LTV32FHD how can if get a usb Bluetooth dongle to connect to Bluetooth wireless headphones? Can't get USB dongle to react at all in USB slot. How can I turn it on for Bluetooth functioning?

I don't know but I would guess you need to read the tv manual. It is possible the dongle isn't working and suggest you plug it into a computer to check if it is being recognised.

Another possibility is the tv usb socket needs to be switched on using one of the tv menus.

How do you solve a Bluetooth Dongle Problems?

<p>Bluetooth wireless technology allows many devices to connect wirelessly to computers, keyboards, mice, speakers and even other computers. Remove the dongle from your computer, restart the computer. Connect the dongle back and reinstall drivers for Windows.

Usb dongle is not working

Step 1:
A Bluetooth dongle is an external Bluetooth device used to enable your PC's Bluetooth connection. Many Bluetooth dongles come without installation disks since the software is pre-programmed into the actual USB stick. These Bluetooth dongles are very useful on netbooks that don't have Bluetooth connection, since netbooks have no CD-Rom drives. Turn on your PC. Insert the USB Bluetooth dongle into the USB port on your desktop tower, or the USB ports located on the perimeter of your laptop. Wait for the program to auto run. Once you connect your dongle, the driver program should launch. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the dongle. A dialogue box should open that says "Installing Drivers" from the taskbar. Allow the driver to install completely before closing the box. Unplug the dongle and restart your PC. Once the PC has been switched on, insert the dongle. Double-click "My Bluetooth Places." This is the Bluetooth icon located in your taskbar, and it should launch the "Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard." Click "Next" on the first screen. Next, type in the name of your computer and select your computer type from the drop-down menu, then click "Next." Click "Skip" on the onscreen prompts, then finish. Pairing the Devices Turn on your external Bluetooth device. Double-click "My Bluetooth Places." Select "Find Bluetooth Devices." The name your Bluetooth device should display in the next window. Right click the icon for your Bluetooth device, and scroll down to "Pair Device." Enter the Bluetooth pin code for your external device in the "Bluetooth Pin Code Request" pop-up window. Then click "OK." The default pin code is normally "0000" or "12345." You can find your pin code in your user manual. If you are pairing a cell phone to your PC, you will have to enter the same pin code on your cell phone to establish the Bluetooth connection.
