Problem with Tascam 122MKIII Single Dual Cassette Deck

Tascam DA 40 DAT Machine ." Loading error "

Inserting DAT Cassette Tape , display shows "Loading Error ".Pressing play button tape is not playing . Unable to remove cassete , as pressing the eject botton wont help .

    • it's a pain in the ***. I think you have to make sure the tape is tight in the cassette before you insert it. You have to take the shell off and manually move the pivot arm to make the mechanism release.

Many different things could sause a problem, belts, mode switch, capacitors in capstan or head motor drive circuit. Hard to say what exactly is wrong with the machine without looking at it.
