Lcd hdtv is hooked up to laptop but it is every 10 sec gos black

I have a philips lcd hdtv and i have hooked it up to my hp laptop with a s hook cable...
it is showing the display of my desktop on the tv but after like 15 secs it goes black for 3, 7 , 12 to 30 secs or longer just randomly ..
its not a flicker is just black.. i checked the settings under the display to check the ntsc is correct...
it was working just fine when i had it on my old tv and it seemed to work ok for a bit when i first hooked it up to the hdtv....
dont know what to do...
i dont think is the tv... maybe the laptop is running something in the background that is cutting off the streaming vid to the s hook???
its not that lap top listed below its HP Compaq Presario V5305wm and the tv is a philips 42pfl3603d/27

If theres nothing happening on ur pc like same as tv its probably the tv config ...
check tv setup
check tv screen saver..if it disabled it would explain why screen black...
could try checking power settings in pc(screensaver properties)

You may have to go into the settings on the tv and turn off the internal speakers in order to get audio out of the jacks on back.

HDMI NO SIGNAL
make sure you set it to an acceptable resolution
try 640x480 that should always work
then try 1024x768 that should work too...
if not, could be a failiure, but is usually just a setting

Screen black. polaroid tv 32". have sound TV/DVD Combo TDA-03211C
sounds like inverter board. What it sounds like is happing is your LCD is working ut the backligkt board that allows you to see is kicking off. (as you still have sound) Which could be the (most likely) inverter board, or the power supply board. You can take apart and check for voltage at your power supply. The power supply has a pigtail with large white wires and a connector. Power up with the center back cover off and check your voltage at the white connector on the power supply before and after the screen gos out. If there is no large voltage loss it is your inverter board.

Trying to connect PC to Philips LCD HDTV
While the tv is on the right input, and the computer is running, try unhooking the cable and hooking it back in. That's the only way I can get my Philips to detect the HDMI signal from my pc. I haven't found a fix for it though.
