Telephone socket fine (tested) but phone keeps searching & saying "out of area""

if you've made sure that the jack is good,by plugging in a known working phone and ensuring that it works, try swapping the line cord between the 2 phones, if that doesn't do it, make sure the line cord is plugged into the correct jack on the back of the cordless phone, there often are 2 of them. good luck.

Pls reg h-s philips cd 150problem

Hi, there,
I just have the same problem here in Taiwan. Now it's solved.
First, make sure phone line of your cordless phone is connected. Then, get to the advanced settings and key in default pin number (mine here is 0000), but don't press OK here. At the same time, push the "radial sign" in the center of CD 150 bracket for 3 seconds so it can deliver signals. Meanwhile, press OK button on the phone and if it's working, you will see
"waiting" and not long after that, no more PLS REG H/S.
Hope it's helping :)

After power cut the phone will not connect,it just keeps reading searching in the screen no dialing tone, the line appears ok as a normal plug in phone works ok can you help many thanks. I cannot find the...

I think if you switch off by holding down the 'exit' key for about 10 sec, then switch on again (same key) it might recover. Mine did, but seems to need the process repeating from time to time. When switched on again it still has to search for about 5 minutes.

How do you turn the ringer on the cd440 model?

The ringer on the Philips CD4402B/37 CAN be turned off by holding down the # key on the dial pad for about 3 seconds (see CD 440 Manual, page 8, Item "I"). And a little "canceled note" icon appears in the screen. To turn the ringer ON when it is off, do the same!

Blinking message light

If you have message bank ie, message service for a VOIP then the signal will continue to detect if there is a message or not..I have turned mine off entirely..i wasnt using it much and the message continually was annoying..if tech support cant help..and they usually wont for your phone service..you will need to find the IP address (if using VOIP) for the phone, log in to that, go to advanced admin setting...passwords are usually admin/admin and somewhere under supplementary services you may see WMI or VWMI serv or something to that effect -i can only go by what i have seen on my screen - others may be different...and i have selected them both to NO...but also check with ur line provider that msg bank/voicemail is turned off..and if these are selected to NO then the message flashing will disappear!

Philips phones

Moved from Texas (CST) to Florida (EST). Brought my vonage equip. with me and kept my TX phone number. Just bought a new Philips CD440 phone. I set the date and clock to correct time. When I receive a call, my phone then reverts back to CST (loses an hour). I have checked all my Vonage settings; they show me as having EST and my new FL address. I can't figure out what is making the Philips phone think it is in CST. This is spooky.

What's the button on the base to register a handset?

hello Stephwen

On a CD440 base you should see at least a single button wich serves to call the cell phone, for the case when we don't remember where left the device, that's the button that you have to press during 3 seconds. On a CD445 base, you can see more buttons has the images showed on Philips pages... the button as a nice sign on it: it as a point with some curve barsto the rigth side as meaning "echo" or "sound"...
