Try erase all data from the card. as soon as game is loaded press A,B,X,Y and L,R and you will be prompted to erase all data on the card.

Try also cleaning the card pins (teeth) with alcohol.

Is this a multi card or a normal game, if its a multi card for e.g R4 or Ncard you need to change the save format settings, but if its a normal game one of the teeth could be damaged or even a glitch, if thats it then you need to take the game back to where you bought it from (depending on how long you have had it between 6 to 8 months)

SOURCE: Could not erase data

okay try finding a clean cotton bud and gently wipe inside the slot, it could be a bit dusty, if that doesnt work try keeping the game pushed in and see what happens... let me know how you get on

SOURCE: nintendo ds, can not erase data message

Where did you buy this game? Is it from a reliable source? There's been known fake DS games that don't work. And usually the case is the game shows a message "can not access saved data. please turn of power and re-insert game". This is actually my first time with a case where it can't erase the data. Try contacting the previous owner.

On the phantom hourglass it says... data could not be read. Please turn the power off and reinsert the game card.I did what it said.I even cleaned it.I need help.

WARNING: This will erase all saved game data!

As the game boots up, press "A,B,X,Y,L, and R" all at the same time to erase all saved game data. This resets the game to all defaults and it's like it's a brand new cartridge. Stinks you lose your save data but at least you get to play again.

Super NES is Driving Me Nuts!

Turning your console on and off *can* erase save game data. This is in the users manual. Intermittent operation on older electronics indicates an internal connection problem somewhere. See if Nintendo can direct you to a fix-it shop, as they no longer service SNES consoles. Failing that, ask local video game stores and rental stores where a good fix-it shop might be.

My memory card has been doing that too. It's either your memory card has gone bad or your ps2 memory card slots is fucked up

Corrupted save files

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to retrieve your corrupted data. This happened to my entire memory card at one point. This usually happens if you take out the memory card or turn off the power when it's saving but memory cards can possibly fail on their own as well. Since you've had the problem for six months, simply reinserting it and trying again probably won't work (but it does in some cases). Your only hope is to reformat it and start over... sorry.

I'm not sure what you mean about the entire game being screwed up, this wouldn't have anything to do with the memory card data.
