Not detected wireless

I will do my best to help you with this concern.

1. go to Device Manager and check all drivers if nothing is missing...if yellow exclamation point.. found-update specified driver

2. In device manager under network adapter is where you check the driver if there's no icon on it like exclamation point..

3. if all drivers are updated-tried to connect to the network.
4. if this is a laptop. make sure the radio button/ wireless switch is on.. in connecting the network.
5. if this is a desktop, make sure the wireless adapter is working fine.

6. if still unable to connect try to contact your service provider and make sure you have the right WEP/ network key to connect to your network.

I hope this will help you.

I cannot connect to my wireless network ( I can connect ONLY by wire) and my Internet provider suggested me to try and find a new driver. Can you find one and notify me?

Hi,

I think it would be better if you check first the Switch of your wireless and see if its turn ON. If happens that the switch is ON, you have to check the Device Manager on your machine and see if the wireless card is listed under Network Adapter. Here's how you can check the wireless card.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Start->Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Device Manager (in Category View)

Start->Control Panel->Device Manager (in Large or Small Icon View and for Vista Classic View)

Windows XP
Start->Right Click on My Computer->Properties(it will open a window)->Click Hardware->Device Manager

Under Device Manager just double click on the Network Adapter and it should give you list, just check if your Wireless Card is listed, if its not most likely the card is not working or faulty. It would be better to call the manufacturer for more assistance.

I recently had to reinstall windows to my computer and i borrowed a xp disk from a friend it installed fine but i cant set up a network connection. do i need to install drivers or is it something else?

Yes, you need to install the drivers for your network adapter inside your computer. Check your device manager to see if the network adapter is missing the drivers. If it is, you'll have to download the drivers from another computer through the Internet at the manufacturers website. Use a USB flash drive to download the file and then transfer it to the computer with the missing driver. Then install it.

Network Adapter driver conflict

The Yellow mark means that the device is not properly install or the drivers are missing. i would search for the drivers using another computer download and install them to get to on the net.

How to connect wifi with acer laptop

Any wireless router will work. You just have to find the router’s signal on your computer (and sign in to the network potentially).
Your laptop should have a built in wireless card. If it doesn’t, you won’t be able to wirelessly use the internet until you do. I’m assuming you are using Windows.
Click Start at the bottom of the screen, the open your Control Panel. Select the category Network and Internet Connections.
There should be a wireless network setup wizard in there, and will help guide you through the process of setting everything up.
Good luck!

If i am helpful please rate me.
Thank you.

Quick time and Vista with internet problems.

Hi there.
I am working on the assumption that you use Vista but XP is just about the same. This method will also hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings.
Ok, what i want you to do is right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "un-install" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again

keep me informed please

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Often this is a simple power management issue. On the laptop check the wireless properties and disable allow Windows to turn off this device to save power.

Cannot get internet connection

You probably have to buy a wireless card and and install it in your computer...there wasn't much in the way of home wireless back in 2002.
Go to your device manager and look at the network adapters and see if you have a wireless adapter installed on your system. If not, you will have to put a wireless pci card in and install it and then you will be able to configure your computer to connect to your router with a wireless connection.

Where does it say internet connected?
Check extra (Tools) internet options what is configured there in Internet Explorer You are wireless. The right WEP or WPA key encryption configure? Try first with direct UTP LAN connection lead before wirelesss. Read manual how to configure wireless part.
