Internet explorer menus not showing

I cannot find the File menus for my IE 7. I've tried right-clicking on the top bar but nothing comes up. I cannot even access internet options in control panel. It acts as if it's gonna show up, but then flashes and disappears. I also tried re-installing but no luck. whats wrong?

Check for any updates and optional updates in control panel.
Run Windows Update in Windows 7

Using Windows Update in Windows 7 keeps your laptop and desktop computer safer.
Microsoft periodically releases updates and security fixes.

By loading these updates, you are keeping your Windows computer safe from viruses, spyware and malware.

With Windows Update, you have the ability to download updates and choose when to install, automatically have updates applied, check for updates only and/or never check for updates.

Click "Start," "All Program" "Windows Update."
Alternatively, you can click the "Start" orb and type Windows Update in the instant search box.

Windows Update appears in the list for you to choose.
Click "Check for updates;" it is located on the left hand-side of the open window.

Windows 7 begins checking for updates.
They are categorized as important and optional.
Click the "Important Update" link and choose all that apply.

Once you are finished choosing your important updates, click "OK."
Click the "Optional Update" link and choose all that apply.

Once you are finished choosing your important updates, click "OK."
Click "Install updates."

Windows 7 downloads your updates and installs them.

Fix Adobe Acrobat or Reader 9 Crash on Internet Explorer 7 Problem

Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader 9 enable the computer to view PDF files.
These applications also install an add on, or plug in a small software that adds extra features to a programto Internet Explorer 7, enabling IE7 to load PDF files from within the browser.

If conflicting add-ons are installed to the browser, or if the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader software is not properly installed, however, IE7 will crash whenever it attempts to load a PDF.

Open Internet Explorer.
Hold down "Alt" to show all of the toolbars.

Click "Tools" from the menu bar.
Click "Internet Options."

Go to the "Advanced" tab.
Click "Reset" to revert the Internet Explorer 7 settings to default.

Click "OK."
Restart Internet Explorer after resetting the browser.

Return to the "Tools" menu and click "Manage Add-ons."
Wait for all of the add-ons to load in the right pane, then look through the list to find the add-ons labeled "BHO" or "Browser Helper."

Click each add-on with "BHO" or "Browser Helper" in the name, then click "Disable." Restart IE when finished.

Download the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader 9 software from the Adobe website, if you do not already have the setup program on your computer or on disc.

Click "Start."
Click "Control Panel."

Click "Programs," then click "Programs and Features."
Scroll to "Adobe Acrobat" or "Adobe Reader 9."

Right-click the program. Select "Uninstall" from the context menu.
Follow the onscreen directions to remove the software from the computer, then restart the PC.

Log back in to Windows and click "Start."
Click "Computer."

Navigate to the folder where the Adobe setup file is saved or insert the Adobe Acrobat CD.
If the file is saved on the computer, double-click the file to launch the installer.

Follow the onscreen prompts to reinstall the plug-in to Internet Explorer 7.
Restart the PC when the installation is complete.

Open Internet Explorer 7 after booting to Windows.
Open a PDF file from within the browser to test the browser.

Which browser are you using? Internet Explorer? Mozilla Firefox? Opera? Google Chrome? Safari?

If you are using internet explorer: Click Tools/View/Text Size and change it.

If you don't see tools at the top of your browser on a line that says File/Edit/View/Favorites/Tools/Help look for tools over on the right then click it and select Toolbars, then select Menu Bar and it will stay at the top of the browser so you can just click Tools/View/Text Size

If you have Windows 7 press and hold the ALT key for the menu bar to appear at the top of the browser.

When I open Internet explorer or any web sites on IE they appear

TIPS:
The default behavior for IE is to open at the same size it was at the last time it was closed.
While the default does apply in many cases it's not always consistent.

Try the following workaround.
Open a single IE window to the smaller size.
Drag the corners of the window until it completely fills the screen.
Do not use the maximize button to enlarge the window.
Hold down the Ctrl key, keep it depressed,
and using the mouse click File and then Exit on the menu bar.
Do not use the "X" in the upper right corner to close the window.
Internet Explorer should now open in a full window.
If it still opens to a smaller size repeat the above instructions, substituting the "Shift" key for the "Ctrl" key.

I can't view the whole webpage on my computer. Parts are missing. How do I fix this? I have spent hours trying to.

Hi ,

First we need to check the version for Internet Explorer ,windows xp comes with internet explorer 6 and vista comes with 7 so to check that open up the webpage and then right on top of the page you will see a menu that has file, edit, view, favourates, tools and help and in vista if you dont find it press the ALT key on the keyboard it will show up.Now you need to click on help ?about internet explorer?check the version for internet explorer if it is 8 then FOR XP go to start ?control panel ?add remove programs?right on top of the page check the box that says show updates .Look for anything that says internet explorer 8 or ie 8,select it and then remove it.
In vista you will have to click on control panel?program and features? then click on show instaled updates that would be listed on the left hand side then look for Internet explorer 8?select it and then click on uninstall .

If its not internet explorer 8 then delete cookies, temp files ,clear history by going to tools, internet options and in the internet options page click on the tab that says content?click clear SSL STATE...The other thing that can be done is go to the Advance tab and then click on reset that will be at the the bottom of the page ,click apply and ok .

hope this works ......all the best

Toolbar in my internet explorer is almost gone

Are you missing the Internet Explorer toolbar that displays the File, Edit, and View menus? If so, you might have moved the Yahoo! Toolbar, or some other toolbar over the IE menu, or you might have gone into fullscreen mode accidentally.
First, make sure you aren't in fullscreen mode. If you are, you'll only see the navigation bar with the Forward, Back, and other buttons at the top of your screen. If that's the case:
  1. Press the F11 key on your keyboard.
  2. The other toolbars in IE should appear.
You can press F11 as many times as necessary to toggle between normal and fullscreen mode in IE.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you might have accidentally moved one of your other toolbars over the main toolbar. Try the following:
  1. Directly to the left of the Y!, you should see a thin vertical bar.
  2. Click this bar with the left mouse button and drag the toolbar straight down.
  3. Your main IE toolbar should now be visible.
Once your toolbars are how you want them, you can right-click the IE toolbar and select "Lock the Toolbars" to keep them from moving accidentally in the future.
If you're still having problems with your Internet Explorer toolbars, you might need to visit Microsoft's Internet Explorer support website.

Good afternoon Laveda,

I have two fixes for you to try,

1. Right click the wireless icon in your task tray (bottom right of the screen). Select REPAIR from the pop up list. The wizard will run through it and you will hit finish or close at the end. Try Internet Explorer.

If that doesn't work...

2. Open Internet Explorer. From the File menu, Select Tools. Select Internet Options from the bottom of the drop down list. Select the Connections tab across the top. Click the LAN Settings button torwards the bottom. Make sure that "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked and nothing else. Close Internet Explorer, reopen Voila.

I hope this helps you out. Have a good day.

Download of Microsoft Home and Student program blocked by IE 7

When you click the link to download, do you get a yellow bar at the top of the browser window under the buttons that state "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options."? If so, click the yellow bar and choose "Download file".
