Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
My xbox comes on but i have no green lights and my contrlr wont come on
What appears to be the problem in my case is that the RF module board in which the power button and the controller sync lies has been damaged. If aboslutely no lights come on when you power on your xbox 360, but it loads like normal, something has fried on the module and needs to be replaced. You can ether contact microsoft about this, or buy one off of ebay and install it yourself or have someone who knows how install it for you. Doing so would void your warrenty of course though.

Do you have the green light under the power symbol... looks like a 1 and 0 stack on top of each other? (right in the middle of the power button)...
When you hit the Xbox button on the controller does the controller lights blink?
If all of the above is YES then I bet you need to resync your controller to your system...
Try this turn on the console and press the small button next to the memory card ports and as quickly as you can turn on the controller and press the same little button on the front (top) of the controller... repeat for each controller

It sound like a problem with the R.F. module same on with the
ring of lights on it . If you open the case pop off the white cover
on the power button ,remove three screws in will easley pull off
toward you, . goto Rich's PSX and buy a ring of lights replacment
moduel , cost 30.00 and plug and play . That's it.
if you need more info ask

Ill go head and admit , i voided warranty and opened the lid to fix the ring of death , now i have the same problem as yall do . the first problem i ran into was the RROD then after fixing i got on Live , constantly lagging out of rooms and freezing (worked fine offline) .
the next problem was when i restarted the Xbox (which btw its a regular 360) it would freeze on startup . origanally i thought it was a BIOS problem then when it let me on , i foundout that my profile on the HDD was corrupt , i checked the HDD and the only corrupt data was my profile , not the other 15GB of stuff . when i tryed to create a new profile , it said that the "Xbox live sign in was currently un-avaliable" and that led me to believe i was banned for a mod ( it reconizes the penny trick as a mod) .
im not sure if i am banned or not but when i restarted again , i had 1 red ring . it was the 4th player ring . so i reconected the controler which landed me where yall are , the power button is on , but no rings are lit , red or green , andthe controller wont connect , the xbox wont even start .
i dont even know if it is fixable but if yall figure somthin out lemme know , ill do the same .

it sounds like that the controller will not pick up the signal. I would try a wired controller first to make sure that all connections are good as far as operation. If that turns out good then I would get a friends controller and try to connect it with the remote buttons. remember to press the button on the xbox first then press the search button on the back of the controller second. If the wired works and the wireless does not then you have a problem with the receiver in the xbox itself.
