Question about GE 24 in. GSD2000Z Built-in Dishwasher

2 Answers

I have a GE built-in, rotary dial. Twice now, the dishes are still dirty when the cycle is done, and the soap looks like it just dribbled down the inside door and landed in a pile on the bottom of the dishwasher. What could be the problem?

Your problem is in the water ,,, eather not getting enough water into dishwasher or your lower spray arm isn't turning ,,,,, i would turn the arm into a prosition that i knew where it set and turn dw on and after you hear it starting to run open the door to see if it has turned ,,,if you have a load of water but arm is in same place the arm is bad ,,, if not much water then you most likely have a bad valve / larry

It turned out to be in fact a kink in the rubber hose leaving the fill valve. I think the metal supply pipe got bent in a position that was holding the valve in such a way that was putting a kink in the hose.

My son had put in a new part to fix a leak last week and had the dishwasher out. I guess this is a lesson to be sure after repair that no hoses are kinked or moved when replacing the dishwasher.

Too much soap for the load or quality of the soap. Also check the inlet water flow system. Clean the filter attached to the machine body at the end of the inlet tube.

Dishwasher cup won't open

Make sure no dishes have block it from opening. If this is a dial model, then with the door open so you can see the soap cup, turn the dial and see if it opens up. If not replace soap cup.

First clean the sprayer arm of all debris. In the back of most dishwashers there is a screen on the bottom that is often full of junk, debris and other stuff from dishes not being scraped off.

Clean that screeen off.

Run vinegar (1 cup) for a full cycle to help break down the lime and other build ups.

Check sprayer arm for debris and other objects. carefully pick it out with a small needle or sometimes even a nail works.

Try running dishes again to see if this helps.

Dihes not clean

Run the unit with no soap, after about 5 min. of run time open door and check to see if water is clear or soapy,If soapy then you are having an oversudsng issue. When your washer gets to rinse cycle, your unit (if oversuding),will be rinsing with soapy water and the the drying cycle bakes the soap on dishes. You might be having a white film on your clear glasses.Cut down on soap especially if you have soft water.powder soap is best.Your dishwasher will fill , wash , the drain. Its what you put into it that will cause dishes not become clean.
