Suggestion: Go to Device Manager.
Go to control panel --> click on system --> click the hardware tab --> click device manager --> click on mice and other pointing devices --> delete the mouse by highlighting and going to action at the top, scroll to uninstall. Reboot the computer. XP should install the mouse drivers fresh upon reboot.

Second: Try an Auxiliary mouse (USB or PS/2)

Third: If all else fails, download service pack 2 or 3 and install. This will fix many issues.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4334. My Video controller and Video controller (VGA Compatible) will not load and my computer cant find it. I have had a problem with this for a while now. I have restored...

You could try letting Windows Update download and install the correct drivers or perhaps go into the operating systems control panel and find the device manager. Depending on which version of Windows you've got installed this can be found from clicking on the System icon and then the device manager link. Find the video controller device in the list by expanding the tree and then right click and choose the update driver software option making sure that you've got an active internet connection at the time.

Distorted, scratchy sound with Toshiba Satellite

OK, I would restore or recover the computer to manufacturer's original specifications and automatic update to the latest sp3.

Then, I would reinstall your virus protection and see if it's better.

Toshiba A200 Laptop's Touchpad is not working

System restore and last known configuratiion and roll back driver are the 3 options for these sort of problems. 1)in device manager right click on the hardware you are having problems with. Uninstall the driver and then reboot. The plug and play will pick up old driver. Also there is rollback driver option at the same place. System restore is in accessories>system tools>system restore. Last is last known configuration. click on F8 on start up and their is a list of options. Use Last Known Configuraton. Good Luck let me know if you have any questions. Pls rate this solution.

Toshiba A105-touchpad mouse intermintent problem

If you know where the touchpad/mouse driver is located on a recovery disk, I would 'delete' the mouse via the control Panel, reboot and see if Win will reinstall the driver from the restore partition or, ask for a disk as a source and you have to know where that driver is on the optical disk. I would locate the drivers on your recovery disks before you delete the current device.
Alternately, you might check Toshiba's support section for a touchpad driver for your OS and system and burn it onto a removable disk or thumb drive that you give to Win as a destination if asked.

Synaptics pointing device ceased to function

Load up device manager , highlight your computer (top in the list) and right click - select scan for new hardware - See if it detects your pointing device now

If it does , right click it , update driver etc and reinstall the drivers for it

If not , it might be a hardware problem , try getting it repaired by toshiba if its still under warranty
