Question about Mitsubishi WT-42315 42" TV

Left side of screen turns red

What causes this? also, how do I fix it myself?

    I had a problem like this. The red separated from the blue on the left side, slightly on the right, and couldn't be fixed using the automatic or manual convergence methods. Unfortunately I had to call a tv repair shop. They had to replace the red color controller microcircuit. It cost about $350, but I had only spent $300 buying this tv from a friend so I deemed it worth the cost. The repair man said this part hardly ever fails so they didn't even stock the part. I guess we are the lucky ones with defective parts.

First check if in that area you have some loudspeaker if so remove it from that location and put far away from your television and then turn off your tv , i mean unplug supply cable for 15 min and then turn on to see if that problem was fixed if that dont work go to one authorized service

when water shorts out something it overloads a lot of other components so the best advice is to take it in for a proper diagnosis.
you just replace a board but another board is damaged it might just blow the board you replaced and that would prove nothing

I have sound but no picture on my tv


This is a popular question. Most of the time you either need to make sure all connections are not loose or just need to turn off your tv and receiver and unplug. Wait for 1 minute then reboot.

I have checked cables and different methods of connecting, but the white and red audio out of my PVR appear to have stopped putting out sound.


Go through the setup of the PVR and check the sound settings. It sounds like it's only producing digital audio, that's why it works with HDMI but you want analog, so set the audio to stereo, or try every setting to see what works!

switch off.wait for 5 mins.
press & hold power button till it turns on then off.
ifno luck try this-
switch on by pressing power button while holding volume + and -.
keep hold of both until powers on.
can take few mins.

No, It's dangerous to repair a TV yourself, it contains hazardous electric currents. Most of such Electronic or Electric Gadgets have Hazard Warning on their Backside "CAUTION: NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE, RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! DO NOT OPEN!!"

Resetting your Router and Set-Top Box can resolve a variety of issues such as:
  • Missing Interactive Media Guide (IMG) or On Demand menu
  • Unresponsive Set-Top Box
  • DVR recording problems
If you are having any of these issues, you may need to reset your Router and Set-Top Box. Will resetting my Set-Top Box erase the selections I have programmed into my remote?
No, all settings and selections you've entered such as device codes, favorite channels, and recent On Demand selections are saved and available after resetting your Set-Top Box.

Resetting your Router and Set-Top Box
Always reset your Router first and then check to see if that resolves the issue. Resetting your router may be all that is needed.
Important note about your router To avoid problems with your FiOS TV service, make sure your router is plugged in and turned on at all times. Even if you are not currently using the Internet, your router still needs be turned on so that FiOS TV can function properly.
