Problem for Mitsubishi WS-55809 55 in. Rear Projection Television
Mitsubishi WS-55809 installing STK392-570
I have a Mitsubishi WS-55809 and I have convergence issues. I found the part I need is an IC chip STK392-570 but I don't know how to install it. I have zero experience with doing this but I am a pretty technical guy so a quick how-to would be awesome. I don't have to money to pay somebody to replace it and I am getting headaches from watching the tv. Please help!!

- Ok, I have soldered a few things before and it doesn't really seem all that difficult. To unsolder I need a solder braid to head up the old solder and so it attaches itself to the copper of the braid, remove the IC's and replace with new ones and re-solder back on. You mentioned to check the low ohm resisters in same circuit, how would I go about doing that? I don't have a voltometer or anything like that.Same Problem

- Hello, I have Mitsubishi WS-55809 installing STK392-570 problem. I can do the solder no problem. However when removing the circut board, how do I know when it is safe ( no electricity in capacitors or transformers) to proceed.? I do not have a degauss tool. I have a cheap multimeter, but where do I test? Or how long after unplug would be absolutely safe? Thanks- executivebuiBest Solution

un solder ics replace both of them resolder make sure you do not solder any of the circuits together or it will short something out,also ck low ohm resistors in same circuit.I will try to help you the best that i can. Main key you must know how to Solder.

- you will need to get some heat sink silicon to put onto back of new ics, also just look to see if any of the resistors seem burted. volt/ohm meter do you know anyone that has one/or you can buy one for less then 25.00 they really do come in need for alot of things .resistor values 1.8 ohms 1watt look up color code for resistor values print it .Radio shack use to have a free resistor chart at thier store.If i can be of anymore help just let me know.Yes
