Tried for 2 hours - can't get the spring back on.  Any pictures or diagrams to help?

I finally messed with my coffee maker enough that I figured out where the spring goes back in.

The filter basket door has to be completely off to put the spring back.

The spring mounts vertically in the hinge area of the filter basket door with the short piece (at the top) horizontally pointing toward the rear of the machine.

There is a hole at the bottom of the hinged area of the door to locate the spring and a hole at the top with a slot and you push the top of the spring through the slot and into the hole.

Now comes the tricky part. There are two plastic tabs that hold the top center of the front of the coffee maker in place. The one on the left was already out of position on mine which is what allowed the door to fall off in the first place. The top center section on my machine is silver.

Both of these tabs must be released in front to allow placing the horizontal piece of the spring into place.

You then put the bottom peg of the basket door into its hole and then lean the basket door up toward the top hole. Before engaging the top peg of the door you insert the horizontal portion of the spring into a recessed area on the top left of the coffee maker that was exposed when you released the two plastic tabs. Then engage the top peg of the door.

This was a little tricky the spring popped out on me and it took me four of five tries.

Keep trying. You can get it.

Once the door is in place, reengage the two plastic tabs and you are done. Mine works fine now.

    Good luck,

    Randy

Have a Mr Coffee model #BVMC-PSTX91. The filter basket has a spring loaded release that has fallen off - how do I put back on? cannot figure out how to put the spring and extra plastic piece on?

without seeing it (a picture) that is a difficult question to respond to. it may have possibly broken or a piece of plastic needed to keep it in place broke - or the spring is defective. suggest get a new basket. (or go to the store, or find a neighbor with a similar model - and look at his basket, take a pic of the spring mechanism with your cellphone and go home to fix your own.)

Cuisinart grind and brew pot - door holding filter pops open during grinding/brewing.

There is a little cover over a spring. The loops of the spring go inside the screw that holds the cover. The spring ends are against the wall and a small pin connected to the button on the side. Keeps the button locked. Cleaning out dried coffee in the are may help and pam spray may keep it from sticking.

Door popped off my Krups FME4 drip coffeemaker.

Just had the same problem today so I thought I would share with you how to fix it. The spring runs up through the door that opens, pop off the silver top and the wire where it makes a L, lock it into the top and put the silver top back on. The switch on the right is only to hold the door open. Good luck.

Filter Basket pops open while grinding and brewing

Put the handle to the basket, that holds the coffee grounds toward the front.  If it is not facing front it will pop open.

Kenmore elite washer metal band on gray seal

The retaining ring inserts into a groove in the rubber seam around the perimeter of the door where it attaches to the door frame. To reinstall, first make sure the door boot is fitting snugly around the door frame opening. Sometimes when the retaining spring comes loose, the rubber may pull away from the door frame. Beginning at the top of the door, start inserting the wire hoop back into the groove. Make sure the wire spring points towards the bottom. As you work your way around the door to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions, you will need to maintain some constant downward pressure while pulling the spring apart in order to snap it back into place with your thumbs. It would be advisable to use a second set of hands to hold the wire hoop in place while doing this as it has the tendency to want to come out of the groove.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Door does not lock shut but machine still works. Is it easy to repair?

Exactly the same happened to our Hotpoint FWD70. The spring that holds the door latch in place has snapped. I removed all screws out of the door to find the spring and the metal rod it hooks onto and bend another hook into it (I didn't have a replacement spring), put it back together and the door works fine, although for some reason the dishwasher tablet doesn't release now!!
