CD/DVD Drive Tray problems There are two ways to open the CD/DVD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work. Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject. If this does not work then you can manually open the CD/DVD drive tray by - Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drive tray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive tray pops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CD/DVD disc. Just below the CD/DVD tray there is a tiny hole. Insert a straighten paper clip in this hole and gently push the paper clip until the CD/DVD tray pops out. You can now pull the tray out until it is in the fully opened position to remove the disc. Try pushing the eject button to see if the tray closes, then push the eject button to see if the tray opens. If this foes not work then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and it needs to be replaced.

the possible problem of it is a defective mpeg board or the belt in tray to make it open if the motor have a supply to turn the motor the problem is the belt but if it has no supply from the mpeg to the motor the defect is on the mpeg board
Check to see if anythig is blocking the tray from opening. Also the tray motor or connections may be failing. I would open the case, remove and replace as many connections, one at a time, to make sure the connections were good. If the tray still does not move, then one or more than one component has failed. It could be an electronic component or the motor.
